Tholian Incursion missions help pls

In the Tholian Incursion missions where you need an environmental suit which i received during the Boldy They Rode mission but when i equip it and leave the force field on Nukara Prime to go outside i keep burning up and dying so why is my EV Suit not protecting me it should be or do i need a different better EV suit?

    make sure your hearing the breathing noise and the light is on.... you can also disable visuals on the suit by default..... when visuals are disabled they only show when the suits active.

    Yep, need to make sure that you've not only equipped it, but turned it "on". Seems like a stupid mechanic to me, but what do I know? I'm not an omniscient game dev.

    I'm guessing it has something to do with either the lighting or the sounds. I don't know of any other armor which does either.

    The problem now is that sometimes beaming to another place or taking the lift to another floor deactivates your suit. It's quite annoying.

    Thank you guys god i'm dumb lol now i remember from boldy they rode you had to click on the suit icon on your powers tray to get the light above your head
