Lockbox question

I am a relatively new player who just came back on the weekend before LoR launched, and I was getting all the lockboxes dropping. Now, all I am getting is the Tal Shiar ones. Am I just questing in the wrong place, or have the others been removed?

I ask because I was thinking about buying some keys, but I dont want to open the Tal Shiar boxes.

    the special lockbox event ended. wait a few more lockbox releases and they will liekly have another event like that.


    these events only happen then there isnt usually a new lockbox in release.

    Last week was a special event that caused all boxes to drop. Normally as it is now, only the current lockbox drops. You can still find the old ones on the exchange though. But you should hurry and get the ones you want to open soon, since prices tend to slowly increase over time as supplies dwindle.

    The next event with all lockboxes dropping will be in roughly 3-4 months, but I doubt you'll want to wait that long.

    The old boxes were removed with the LoR patch, however, if you go to the exchange you can still get some there for EC, prices vary depending on the type and quality/quantity.

    Thank you for the fast replies. I didn't know it was a special event, I just came back and thought that's how it was.

    Pity, as I will not spend money on keys now. Maybe a few to open the boxes I got on that weekend.

    you can still open boxes.... items from the lobi store, such as all the ships, are unbound so you can sell/trade them, plus any ship you get from the lockboxes you can sell and then buy the ship you want off the exchange.


    I got my recluse by selling a D'Kora back when the ferengi lockboxes were active.

    I thought about that, but isn't the going rate of the Rommie ships ships rather low, due to exchange being flooded with them? And a side question, what c-store item gives you the most bang for your buck on the exchange? Keys? Fleet Modules?

    Maybe, I would be better off just trying to buy what I want with EC.

    Absolutely. With realizing this you already won the lockbox lottery ;) Fleet Modules, Keys and Doff Packs are best to sell. Which is best at the moment varies, you can just check the current prices and calculate the EC/Zen ratio in a flash. they should be about the same (possibly keys are a bit better if they are still discounted, not sure).
