Patching Difficulties.

Hello,
Im not sure if my first posting ever came on board here..but here goes...
As of yesterday I've been having difficulties with the patching part of logging onto the game. After I click the log on button the patching would start however, it was going very slowly...I then stop logging and tried again to reload my game again the patching went slow. I then tried restarting my computer to see if that will do the trick...no luck. Then I decided to try and do the patching again and it took about an hour to do so..once that finished I then hit the engaged button and the crypt part of the screen came downloading the game however, it was starting to download the Legacy pack the romulus game which I did not wanted..so I then uninstalled the first game I had...however, after an hour of downloading a whole new game Im still having trouble with the patching....I did ask for help but all it was telling me to do the manual patching which I tried to figure how to do that...I will admit Im not tech savvy but could use the help here..perhaps a simple help would do me a favor...My anti virus software is fine..Im able to get into the internet fine with no problems.

I really enjoyed the game very much but Im disappointed that I have to start all over again...oh well..lets hope I get something going

Hi there,
First up, Legacy of Romulus is the name of the latest expansion for Star Trek Online and is not some kind of optional add-on that you can choose not to have. The screen you mention seeing after completing the patching process is just the loading screen for the game, a fancy graphic for you to stare at whilst the game sorts itself out. This long wait time only usually occurs after a large patch is released or if you have just installed a fresh copy of the game.
Basically, everything you describe as a problem (apart from the slow patching which is partly due to the number of people also trying to patch, and maybe from you having slow internet speeds) is not actually a problem at all. The only thing you require is patience and everything will load just fine.

Thanks it finally worked out...and had the opportunity to finished a game I was stuck on played all nite lol
the updated version is awesome.
