Whats the deal with the Nimbus 3 storyline, finding it very tedious, is it part of the Romulan storyline as it feels more like a fleet action kind of map ?

It's an adventure zone map with story missions.

You don't have to do the zone-wide missions.

Anyone else have any problems with the DOFF/Replicator assignment. I assigned a duty officer but the mission did not start and now I have no available duty officer to complete the mission. Is this a storyline bug?

I had no problem doing that...

Can't figure out what happened. I had to drop that part of the mission entirely. Also not letting me restart it. I could very well be doing something wrong however. Just can't figure out what??

Also have no more duty officer points to assign any for this assignment. A real drag too.

That might be what the problem is, try again when you have some free slots.

Yeah it is crazy weird TOR looking place and you keep expecting nerf herders to appear or get run over by a speeder, jawa vendors.. but you should at least play through the bar fight :)

The only resemblance it has to TOR is that it's a desert and there are deserts in TOR. :P

Seriously, Paradise City and the surrounding area comes straight out of Star Trek V.

BTW, loot here is not scaling to level - it is stuck around level 20-30 stuff.

I was really enjoying the whole thing where as I was fighting my way through the Syndicate base, tons of enemies kept respawning right on top of me. Seriously, I'd kill a group and 10 seconds later the exact same group would transport in and attack me, before my grenade skill could even cool down. Hell, sometimes I'd end up with half a group being reinforced by themselves from the future, like some screwed up version of the Mannheim Effect where there are 30 Datas, only they're all angry pirates.

You can but I don't recommend it. The final story mission gives you a re-usable space battle-pet summon power with a 3 minute cooldown.

It's like a photonic fleet for every one of your captains but it deals substantial damage.

That's probably because the zone is designed for players at that level, and any higher level characters who go there are set to that level by the game. It is a bit annoying to get a bunch of gear that you can't use because it's way too low level though.

So I did the whole missiongs and the logs show that I have "go to the entrance" with a check mark and then it says "contac horace jones", but I have no clue how to do that? any ideas?

P.S. I already tried talking to the guy directly, it would suck if i had to drop it and start it all over again!

Personally, I really enjoyed the Nimbus III chapter, and I return there often to do the daily dilithium missions and the random mini-dilithium missions.

I didn't have any problems with the missions.

To molgat: Have you tried opening the quest log and hailing from there?

thats because it IS a level 20-30 zone for romulans, whos its part of the main storyline for.

I dont think they made a seperate level 50 zone for it.

yeah, its basically a free support fleet, which i do not know if you can actually summon when using this item power too.

so IF you can use the pirate fleet with support fleet..... on a true carrier with photonic fleet.... damn thats a lot of spam. lol.

yes but its not indicating that it is done, I'm quite confused I almsot feel like I was suppose to do something specific in the southern part of the map but when I got there I killed a few of the bad guys to prevent the meet and then nothing happened so I went back, Thats why when they say to "contact Horace Jones" and just before that It said to "go to the entrance" which i completed so I'm not sure how I'm suppose to contact him. other than at the paradise lost site.

I actually enjoy the Nimbus 3 missions and I have done the whole thing several times on different characters....fun stuff if you ask me :)

It is a good way to spend an afternoon and gain 3 or 4 levels in the process...

Well, Horace should be just inside the gate. If not, see if there's a little "hail this contact" symbol in the mission log (looks like a tiny LCARS display).

I find it a wonderful place. But incredibly bug-ridden. And we're not speaking about Klendathu here! Only if you use it as a metaphor. Then it is indeed appropriate!

I know you can use the Nimbus Pirates with the Photonic Fleet - I haven't tried it with anything else, but if you could use Support Fleet and your carrier pets as well, then I'd see if I could use the console that comes with the Rhode Island-class and let your photonic duplicate fight alongside all those others, while you just sit there invisibly and watch... :)

Nimbus pirates, Fleet support, and the Scorpion Fighter from the Vault all share cooldown.

A science captain in a carrier can summon the nimbus fleet as well as a photonic fleet while they have pets out however.

Yes, we can. Though it's a bit overkill. Four BoPs+Nimbus Pirates+Photonic Fleet is a handy panic button. Just watch your framerate on weaker machines. :D

I really disliked this place on my first 2 run-throughs with my low level Rom alts. However, I've recently been doing the missions there with some of my level 50 Fed alts, and I have to say that I enjoy the story arc very much.

With low-level (or, I guess, "level-appropriate") alts, you're so busy trying not to die every 5 seconds that you just try to get through the missions as fast as possible. My 50s have been able to enjoy and savor the actual story. Even at 50, there are some tough battles, so its not a cakewalk, its just a nice challenge coupled with a cool story. I like that.

Plus, there are 3 decent daily Dil missions that are pretty easy, and also that mission that pops up periodically just outside the city gates that worth some Dil.

Also makes a handy 'I got this' in the Dyson Sphere while trying to capture a tower in the contested zone

    Hi!

Has anyone else had difficulty breaking the prisoners out? I've assaulted the base, and gone as far as the door with the 3 security guards. I've seen other players stand there a while and disappear. Is there a prompt that I'm missing. None of the guards talk to me and the door isn't clickable.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you mean the impromptu prison in the outer section of the Orion hideout, you go in, take out the guards, and talk to the prisoners in each cell. If you mean inside the hideout at the club, you can't rescue them. Sorry. You're meant to be chasing after Hassan the Undying-unless-you-decide-to-kill-him-rather-than-accept-his-surrender.

This. Had no pleasure playing and replaying it to get Distress signal for all alts. Hate those types.
