What has Cryptic ever given me in this game...

With all the negativity about system issues and yeah I'm as bugged as the rest of you about them - get Delete email and Tour the universe fixed along with game stability. I thought it best to point out that actually Cryptic do offer perks for there players whether f2p or lifers/subs.

So, Actually we get quite a lot, since Christmas there has been an additional number of giveaways on top of the content we have available normally:

Yes admittedly they are on a ltd time basis and do require time in some (not all - if ten minutes is too much for you shut up).

so I thought it best to point out with thanks to Dstahl, Branflakes and co., what we have had extra in just the last six months:

1/ Breen cruiser along with Q's winter wonderland.

2/ Free Ambassador/Kamarag for VA.

3/ Free space Pet - The Phoenix/Batleth.
(some people like having the space pets even if you or I are fairly meh about them.)

4/ Exocomp Doff (along with commendation boost).

5/ Featured Series - rerun with free lobi and additional Items and BOFFs.

6/ Crystalline Entity Event with space pet.

7/ FREE (Unlike some other MMOs) LoR expansion.

I think that's everything, please point out anything I've missed.

Whilst they are a professional organization for who an online MMO is there job, how many of us at home add a patch/software upgrade and then have to get an additional fix patch from the software host.

Do we contact there complaints department and go hey you didn't test this properly there was a problem... don't care you fixed blah, blah, blah, what about what I had planned that took me an hour to sort your problem instead...


So let's take a step back, take a breath, and accept that any system issue anywhere with anyone has problems when upgrading or adding to what it already does. Lets try and be patient.

    To say nothing of the fact that without Cryptic there would be no actual *game*. :)

    They took on this project that nobody else wanted. Think about that for a minute. The previous owner of the IP was a defunct studio that Cryptic basically had to rescue Star Trek Online from. They saw potential where every other studio saw a pain in the neck.

    Love these guys for that.

    Yep, I think that's everything aside from the things that stay in the game (like the T3 ships and costume options from Temporal Ambassador) and the Tribble test rewards.
    FKA K-Tar, grumpy Klingon/El-Aurian hybrid. Now assimilated by PWE.

    Cryptic once picked me up hitch hiking in alameda.

    You realize you got nothing for free right? The thousands of people paying for butloads of Zen. Not to mention the subscribers too.

    They had alot of newthings; tons of new ships in the last six months,the 2 new lockbox with all there loot, traits, the new rep. system, romulans, new PvEs, starbase projects and more.

    Presumably when you get cold chips and a soggy burger, you stand up in McDonalds and lecture all the other customers about all the 'free' toys they been giving out recently.

    One year into F2P. Here's my list ( work in progress)

    -a F2P game to play
    -Surveys for zen (Defiant)
    -Dilithium for Zen (Aventine)
    -Dominion Doffs ( du'h Dominion!)
    -Shard of Possibilities (more of me, yes!)
    -Ambassador Ship (thanks for the Breen ship, but its just so ugly :) )
    -Old STF system- (Borg Doffs - Anti-Borg Gear - MACO/Omega Sets)
    -Nukura (old and new, I still like kicking Tholians around)
    -Exchange (and all the goodies people don't want)
    -Tour the Universe ( EC grind at its best)
    -The Foundry ( The Foundry )
    -Season 7 Giveaways (rocking TOS dress still, thx!)
    -TNG Holo-Worf! ( I get to look like TNG Worf! )
    -Making Klingons suck ! (In the words of Nelson: "Ha, Ha" )
    -Playable Romulans (Playable Remen too )
    -Server Downtime (how else would I type this )
