What do you like about LoR?

Look, I know how frustrating it's been. It's taken a month and a half (and an install through steam) just to get the game to start working again. And what do I get for all that frustration? More frustration! With disconnects, bugs, and queues out the wazoo. Believe me, I feel like raging myself.

But, there have been more than enough complaining threads, so in what little time I have spent with it, I give you what I like about LoR. And feel free to share your own.

1. The welcome screen.

Holy TRIBBLE this thing is boss. Sometimes it is worth going back and redoing something as little as this because holy awesome. My captain flanked by her ragtag crew, huge ship looming in the background... it's almost poster worthy. (Actually, can you make that a thing? I would totally buy that if it was a thing.) To the guys that obviously worked overtime on this. NIIIIIIIIIIICE.

2. Warp Cores.

About damn time. These should have been in the game from the beginning. I look forward to future sets that include them, and their inclusion in current sets. All we need now is a "HOLY TRIBBLE EJECT THE CORE BEFORE IT BLOWS UP AND KILLS US ALL" button, and we will have the complete warp core experience! :D

3. The UI.

It's not perfect, but it is a billion times better that whatever came before it. Currently using the Voyager one (though I honestly think it looks more TNG.....) and loving it.

4. The Crystalline Entity.

People still have no idea how to kill it, but it actually looks like the Crystalline Entity now!!! (Instead of whatever the heck this was supposed to be.) To the modeler and texturizer, who ever made this thing, I will continue to admire its majesty, as I beat it's face in.

5. My ship is prettier.

The model is still screwed up (the phaser lance is still misaligned, and it still fires from the saucer, not the lance) but the textures look much better. I forget what hull I'm using, but it looks shiny and well maintained, but kind of worn and old, befitting my ship and it's backstory. Also the bussard collectors look darker and more lava like. It's neat.

6. Did you guys mess with the lighting a bit?

Most of the game looks darker as a whole, and it looks much better befitting a game set in the cold dark, blackness of outerspace. It might be due to a darker UI, but as a whole, the game looks far less cartoony and bright, and makes the colours darker, richer, and more realistic. I like it very much. More of that please.

one of the things i like is the ships go faster and turn better then before.. my voquv no longer has to circle a planet 3 times to get pointed in the correct direction to be able to use slipstream.. lol. also said slipstream now takes me the entire length of the map.. which is nice.

To be honest most everything, other than the (mostly expected) launch week QA problems. For me, the expansion itself is living up to the billing.

Noteworthy little thing? Adding a feature to the exchange that eliminates stuff your faction can't use from searches. Hooray.

The graphics pass is fantastic. Everything on space maps looks much sharper.

Enjoying the Romulan story so far (though it's weird hearing Khev's voice come from my Reman Borg officer on occasion...).

1&2 complete agreement! First thing I thought was making a couple posters of the selection screen also :)
3, I REALLY like the style, but I really want to see customizable colors (possibly even with a real red) or a blanket 2 tone option. The current color schemes are awful.
4, def impressed with the gfx of the crystal ent, but not at all with the event itself. Can't speak to the lance in 5, but improvement to ship appearance is very evident in all environments.
6, yeah it's slick and def looks darker (which might be part of how crazy harsh those neo-pastel with a fluorescent finish UI color palettes are)

I love pretty much everything except for the new lockboxes, but i will always hate lockboxes. :) Minor gripe might be having to choose between Fed n KDF as Rommie? I spent a full day deciding and im still doubting my choice. Also .... The free ship token... Would be nice if it worked on the ships of the faction you chose. I can either get ships that have not the best setup for my Engineer Rommie but are free, or pay myself blind dilithium wise to get one that goes with it better. Obviously im going for the one free option.

Love the new ui, love love love the new conversation screens, the less in your face color on the KDF side. The missions so far on Rommie side. Seems to be a massive improvement overall. Cant complain. :) Would love to see the "one galaxy to rule them all" idea that was on the board a long time ago. Sector walls still .... Dunno .... ruin immersion a bit (minor gripe again)

The new levels are fantastic, the storyline is great - I really get the sense of playing as a Romulan pursuing a Romulan agenda - and I love that they added voices (even if they do grate after a while). I've not been this immersed in the game in a long time, possibly since I started playing over a year ago. I admit to a certain amount of fanboy glee at having Nimbus III in the game, and the references to other elements of Trek history made me very happy (we all know that the Elachi are the dudes from Silent Enemy now, right? It isn't a spoiler any more, right?).

On the flip-side, I do feel that the Elachi are a tad overpowered; their ships don't lose their shields very easily, their hulls are too tough, and their weapons (not even the superweapon, here, just the standard plasma bolts) cut through you too easily. Don't know if this is an issue or "working as intended". ;) Equally, I hate the amount of time I'm disabled/held by their poison gasses, drones, etc.

Overall, I'm very happy with Legacy. 4/5.

Just about everything, minus the bugs of course. Nakura marks could be higher too I guess.

The content is really good, much more than I expected, lots of VO too. The romulan ships are awesome. Lots of little things like the cancel button on projects. Any faction from level 1. Better tutorials. The new UI is sexy. Tons and tons of romulan costumes. The character select looks awesome if a little sluggish to load at times.

I also love how on the pop ups there is an actual background, or the viewscreen changes depending on your ships screen (galor's have an oval screen, the jem'hadar looks like you are wearing the headset).
