Costume Unlocks

azimeirazimeir Member Posts: 8 Arc User
Hello, fellow Captains, I'm new to Star Trek Online. Please don't hold that against me.

I looked around and didn't find an answer to this question.

Aside from IN GAME and one piece at a time, where can one unlock custom pieces? Say that, hypothetically, I wanted to unlock many pieces, perhaps every single piece. Cryptic, who did City of Heroes I believe, used to have "packs" to unlock sets. I can't find these packs in the cryptic store, in game, or anywhere else I look.

Please help me give Cryptic money.

EDIT: I found this -- http://sto.gamepedia.com/Cryptic_Store -- which is a price guide and talks of bundles, but I still can't find where to pay and unlock.

    Azimeir:

Uniforms in STO fall into three general categories:
    • Normal uniforms that you can earn through in-game achievements
    • Premium uniforms that you buy in packs on the C-Store, and
    • Premium uniforms that you buy in-game in the Lobi store

The first category are the basic uniform upgrades you earn in-game, like rank insignia, the admiral's coat, Romulan capes, etc. There isn't any way to get these early, you just have to earn them normally. There are also some pieces like the Tal Shiar unifom, the Yesterday's Enterprise Sam Brown belt, etc., that you get from playing specific missions.

The second category you can buy in the C-Store or directly through the tailor interface. These are normally bundles containing all the parts for a certain uniform and usually cost 550 zen.

The third category are "enforced scarcity" uniforms that the IP holders only allow in the game if they are somewhat difficult for players to obtain. These are things like the 29th century uniforms, the Tholian silk clothing, and the Ferengi clothing. You can get these in the Lobi store once you earn Lobi crystals from opening lockboxes. To open the Lobi store, just double-click on any Lobi crystal or visit the Lobi storefront at Drozana.

    Hope that helps :)

There should be many costume packs in the Z Store, mostly Federation, under the Appearance tab. There are also some costume options you can buy with Lobi Crystals, which you get by opening lock boxes. You can get Master Keys to open the boxes from the store and the exchange.

    Very much. Thank you. :D

Although, just doing some quick math, it's pretty pricey to unlock all available pieces. I shall have to be cautious...
