Player Booting Failed

I suppose it's my own fault for trying to change characters. I should know better than to leave once I get in.
I was changing characters and was stuck on a screen with the message "Retrieving list of characters..." I saw this message for approximately 60 seconds, then got a message on the screen that said "Player Booting Failed."
I have tried to log in at least three times from the launcher, and keep seeing the same thing. I then came to the forums and didn't see anything regarding this particular message so I decided to post.
