Romulan Fleet Starbases

According to one of the Dev Blogs... "Ask Cryptic - Legacy of Romulus" Romulans Fleets are still not able to create starbases or holdings.... I personally still dont quite get it.. since My Fleet "Romulan Republic Guard" was able to start some projects lastnight...

Not sure if I missed read something or missing a peice.. can some one explain?

    It's not that they can't create them, it's that their fleets are rooted in their aligned faction and they get either a Starfleet or KDF starbase, not a Romulan one.

    Correct with above...you can create and name your fleet whatever you want even as a romulan but your fleet is as of now will be ALIGNED only with FED or KDF...sorry to say it is not a REAL romulan fleet

    I think some of the Wording they had was a little confusing.

    Romulan Characters are treated as the same as their Member of their "Chosen Faction" (KDF/Fed). So in your case, A Federation Romualan will have access to most of the Federation fleet services, with the Possible exceptions of Federation Fleet Starships.

    While you can Make a Fleet for Romulans, it will be actually a Fed or KDF fleet.

    Wouldn't be better if romulans were a faction on its own?

    The only acceptable answer for the large Romulan community is the release of ROMULAN STARBASES, for which versions are already seen in the games content. They can ''justify'' and put dinosaurs in dyson sphere, in Romulan space no less, they can give fleets the Option to select ROMULAN STARBASE for Romulan fleets (fed and kdf) to Select or special project them for the fleets that are predominantly Romulan or any fleet that wants them. Period.

    Unify the Romulan community and we will have it.

    The ONLY acceptable response is the release of our Romulan Starbase option.

    Romulans need cross-faction teaming before they get starbases.

    the hole reason we did get are own romulan fleets because EP didnt want to segment the player base with having to start new fleets so on imo they did that from the moment I had to choose an alliance

    Yes, but they've already said they won't ever do that.

    Add that to the list of true 3D space and several other things that make tons of sense that they refuse to do because of the 15-year-old sad panda game engine.

    You wouldnt need to start a whole new base, you take the existing base and select the Romulan Starbase ''skin'' and perhaps allow Romulan themed projects to possibly be done again if not replaced.... instead of tribbles, now theres epohhs running around, if not a transition then redo those faction specific projects, most of the projects are universal anyway, a bartender is a bartender, regardless of faction, perhaps the rewording etc are different.

    cant do that ....many romulans already have elite gear from the existing factions

    To create a romulan faction/starbase with romulan elite gear would allow those whom have this other faction elite gear a unfair advantage

    Allow a free ''skin'' transition to a Romulan Starbase for existing starbases.

    Allow additional Starbase to be ''built'' Romulan style.

    or Both.

    We already have our own planet, own ships, own storyline, a seperate faction is not needed storywise or mechanially.


    its simple... green, Romulan NPCs, weapons and gear etc offered are the same.
    Epohhs running around, Nanovs in the fish tanks, consoles etc Romulan style, Romulan banners,
    Romulan ships in the holopictures, etc.

    See it, make it happen <3

    Well... given how the last Feature Episode goes down it looks like there's no real excuse for treating Romulans any different than Federation or Klingon characters.

    My prediction? Factions will be loosened up in post S9 content:

    1) Romulans won't have to select an ally as all three "factions" will be allied.
    2) All players will be able to team up.
    3) Romulans will be able to initiate new fleets, and any faction's characters will be able to join. The differences will be mostly aesthetic, though we may see Elite Fleet Plasma weapons added.

    It would be just simple reskin with already made models and textures. Sure it can't be that hard, I mean it's been a year and people are still waiting for romulan starbases to be released since season 7
