Did anyone else find it funny and laugh when they (in one of the gathering romulan missions) they went on the space station and meet a Romulan with LaForge's visor? I wask because in a episode of TNG when LaForge and a Romulan were trapped on a planet the Romulan told LaForge had he been born on Romulus he would have been killed at birth.

Or their ideas about their caring for their young have changed after hobus, like many other of their ideals :)

It never occurred to me that he might be blind. In fact, given that the game takes place decades after Geordie is able to ditch his visor, I figured most NPCs that have eyepieces are wearing them as enhancements... ( 25th century Google Glass)

He's not blind, he just stole the shades off a blind guy. :)

I may just as well be they can no longer afford to get rid of people whose skills don't depend on their ability to see colours the way sighted people do.

Maybe he isn't blind he just uses the VISOR. Maybe he was once part of the Romulan military that required it be installed.

(Considering that the VISOR causes the user constant discomfort that idea makes the Romulans a little bit scarier.)
My Romulan Liberated Borg character made it to Level 30 and beat the (old) Defense of New Romulus with the skill point bug. :D

Yes, and I think I rather liked the guy.....before his boss tried to kill me. I am curious as to why an NPC can use one, but it is not an optional consume piece in the tailor.

He's an easter egg. Look at his name, and Google it spelt backwards. :D

Since VISOR'S (by this time) have been replaced by ocular implants, I rather expected that he'd been blinded early in life and then fitted with the VISOR because he couldn't afford/find proper implants.

Also thought/hoped he'd make a good BOFF and inspired a future story for one... until he tried to kill me :P

Oh now what the heck is his name?!?!

Well fortunately I'll be leveling up a character and doing that mission again soon.

Well Cryptic has made it clear that these are different Romulans from the ones on the show....they might as well be a different species they are so different. Cryptic's new paradigm are based off of the likes of the Bajorans and the Rebel Alliance from Star Wars, so it wouldn't suprise me if they chose to purposefully ignore inconvenient tidbits of Romulan culture like the infanticide.

His name is Tobol. Backwards it is Lobot, who is this guy from The Empire Strikes Back:

Spin the visor around and they look the same. Nice reference.

As did I. I was kind of looking forward to having him as an engineer or Tac officer. Oh, well. Maybe I can requisition a Romulan BOFF and make him look somewhat like Tobol.
