Mk XII Warp cores????

redheadguyredheadguy Member Posts: 423 Arc User
Will Mk XII warp cores be made available via the fleet store anytime soon??? I don't like the idea of being stuck with a Mk X for any length of time, and just imagine what the Advanced and Elite models will be like!

Borticus has said that Purple Mk XI and XII Warp Cores are going to be drops only for the time being.

Ugh. Guess I'll have to wait to upgrade then. First look at the exchange has them running at 80mil+. The new borg romulan cruiser is going for 72mil. Warp cores be sellin' for more than a whole ship.

Wow, I missed something then, I have been playing since F2P, and I have never seen the option to upgrade an actual warp core at all. Where does one find one, and does it go in a console slot? Device slot? Engine slot or what? Unless I am misunderstanding and the warp core is part of engines for example. The only modification I have been able to do is attrubute changes for passive buffs. Has this been around for a while or is this just a LOR thing? I have not been able to log in yet :(

Warp Cores were added with the LoR expansion. It is similar to shields, deflectors, and engines as far as slotting goes. The Warp Core determines the Warp Speed a ship travels at and has some bonuses for energy distribution and Transwarp and Quantum Slipstream buffs depending on Warp Drive. The Warp Drive is the main component for Romulan Warbirds with their Singularity Drive charges.

I don't know if the cores are actually selling at those prices (last I looked none of the VR warp cores had actually sold). People are definitely trying to sell them at those prices though and catch the I must have it now crowd.

There will be Fleet warp cores in the not so distant future. For now, though, you can get Mk XI and XII warp cores just by defeating enemies in space combat. :)

yeah hopefully in a week or so when more and more get put out there the price will settle down to more reasonable levels

but hey if you get one in a drop now is the time to sell LOL

Do the Mk XI and Mk XII purple cores drop only in Deep Space Encounters, or are they also available from PvE queues, such as STFs?

Warp Cores can drop anywhere when you are fighting NPCs. There are somewhat rare drops though. I only got a couple in all of my testing on Tribble.

run the new mission chain - you get a warp/singularity core at the end.

They drop from level-appropriate encounters, just like all drops. Don't expect to get any cores higher than a Mk II from the Sirius Sector encounters. Ker'rat farming is your best chance.

Capped at Mk XI Uncommon, because of Cryptic's cryptic loot table scaling.

Here's an uncredibly crazy and never heard of idea: Make them craftable. You know that stuff that you do on Memory Alpha, if you want to make kits for alts. It's not good for much else anymore.:D

That's a good idea......as long as we don't have to buy those unreplicatable blocks. :P

But at least there is a DOFF mission where we can build one. :)

so if Kerat farming is gives you slightly higher chances for warp cores then I guess it is time to show up with my brothers and step-brothers in green, and execute those tyrant bunch of feddies without any remorse :D

...oh wait, I meant to repeat something else.

Why not instead of fleet warp cores coming July 21st with the new holding, distract us with a shiny assignment chain for Mk XII warp cores? :D

The new shiny item of STO. Just wait awhile about 2 or 3 months and cores will be selling for 30k on the exchange. Notice how on day one of release the exchange is already flooded with them. The one that came on my ship is fine for now. I refuse to waste credits or dil. on this item. If you do alot of pvp then i can see you needing the edge but i don't so i can wait.

The drop rate is disproportionately low compared to other types of space equipment.

Any chance of tipping off which enemies are dropping Mk. 12 Gear?? Granted the server has been down every time I've tried to log in the past couple days but prior to LoR I cant' say I saw any Mk. 12 drops in space combat...

How come that purple mk xii warp or singularity cores are not in the loot table of STF's rewards ?
