Warp Core Acquisition

I know that with limited time to play and server issues, this question may be premature, but here goes. Other than the exchange and the dilithium store, are there any other places to obtain a warp core?

Reports on Tribble were that random drops were few and far between. Cores that do drop will likely be incredibly expensive on the Exchange, if they're actually any good.

Odds are, the vast majority of us will be using the Dilithium store cores until more equipment is added to stores later, like from Reputations or Fleet stores.

Some ships like the new Tal Shiar Lockbox ships come with special cores, which is likely a thing that's going to happen too. Expect special C-Store ships to come with their own Warp Cores from this point on, although whether or not those cores will be transferable is anyone's guess.

I haven't seen it myself, but there is supposed to be an DOFF experimental warp core assignment. So there is one other possible source of warp cores if this assignment does exist.

I visited my ship and that mission is not available on the engineering deck. Heard it was found in sector space, but that is hearsay.

    And missions.

The last mission in the Wasteland chain gives you the choice between a level appropriate green Warp core or Singularity core (Obviously you need to pick the one you can use.)

Agreed, though I'm surprised that the Nukara Rep isn't launching with one.

I think they're going to do Fleet Warp Cores too.

They're probably going to have warp cores that come in their own sets from here on out too.

On tribble I got a random drop of a white mkXI, with a transwarp cooldown bonus.

Oooooh. I hope so. I love my Doff missions. Maybe a good one for the M/A Specialist finally.

It does exist, the mission popped up for me a little while ago under my engineering department head mission list.

I ran the doff mission and got a Purple Mk XI Overcharged M/A Core with 15.6 driver coil bonus, Shields to Engines (nice on an Assault Cruiser, I've needed to relearn turning) and of course the Aux cap bonus.

    Very nice. :D
