The game is lagging badly. I managed to get patched before the update server problems and for a couple of hours the game was fine but then it started to lag and the lag gradually got so bad to make the game unplayable.
I really don't like having to wait 2 minutes for an item to transfer from my bank to my inventory.

My guess is its a server overload issue, hopefully here soon cryptic will make an announcement. Good thing to see a lot of people want to play the game lol. Just as long as Cryptic does not go the way of EA we will be ok
Apparently we are SOL here "unknown error" after character list retreval fails. And I am a gold member, I didn't even get logged in to find my character slot problem yet.
it has told me at the top of the forum page that they are investigating the ''login failed for unknown reason'' thingy - i was actually in-game for a short amount of time before i was kicked and then i got that message :mad:
Let's just take a breath and slowly put the batliffs down. They just did, what seems like, a major update. There are going to be a few issues with logging in, glitches, and quick fixes. This is not unique to Star Trek Online. Any remember when WoW, Eve Online, UO, etc did/do major updates like this? This will all slowly resolve itself in time. It's a ftp game so just read a book in the meantime and check in every now and then.
Now there might be other issues when you do get logged in that you might encounter such as glitches, mission not working right, etc. What you should do it fill in a work order describing the issue(s) to the best of your ability and let them work on it. What you shouldn't do it log on and complain about how the world has wronged you or be the 20th post that says "Same issue here too" without addition information.
If you want things to run smoothly and help out the programs, developers, networking engineer, etc. you should be informative and helpful instead of crying in your beer.
sure as far as it goes but it is reasonable to assume that the load will increase after an update marketed like LOR yes? We can also assume they actually want to increase market share, so it might be a good idea to be able to handle at least a fraction of the new/returning people coming in yes?
All I heard was "I'm a whiny brat who doesn't understand how 350,000 people all hitting download and game servers at the same time might break things, like it has for almost every expansion in just about any MMO ever."
