Lifetime and still takes forever.

i have been a Lifetime member from back in the beta and what has it gotten me....nothing. I have had to wait in Q's and now, the downloads still take forever. This has got to stop. If anyone was thinking of getting a lifetime member i would say, NO. I started my patch at 11:15am west coast time and it is now 1:30pm and i am still patching.

If it was going to make you QQ this much, why didn't you prepatch?
The truth is I am still pissed that Ive been dealing with this since 11:00am and its now going on 3:37pm and I am only at 9.6% of the last 128MB to complete it. Not only did I waste my day but I found out that since I was a gold member at one time in the past I will not get my Romulan character slot which means I wasted a whole day basically sitting here waiting to make my Romulan character and I still wont be able to play it till they get off their lazy rears and patch this problem in the next patch hopefully. They dont even know if it will be fixed in the next patch.
All I know is I want those two romulan assignments that I did not que up which were duplicates of ones I finished just before thoses to be removed and I want 2 character slots for wasting my time with this. There is no excuse for something like this to happen where those that have subscribed or are life members wouldnt get a character slot for the romulan faction.
Keep calm, and continue firing photon torpedoes.
And i did prepatch. I have been playing the game everyday and was ready for this and still it is taking forever. It went live at 12pm west coast and i said i started what i thought would be something small at 11:15am and still taking forever.
I'm a lifetime sub as well, but I don't think it should matter, it just shows that so many people are trying to download at once and they were not prepared for the large amount of sign-ins.

It is that good that i just went lefetime btw.
This kind of thing happens with any game, PC, console, whatever, when new DLC comes out. (maybe not as bad)
And yes, I too think its a good thing that a lot of people want to play this game

I guess I should consider myself lucky for downloading 3% more in 24 minutes. Should I get a trophy or something for that!? Cryptic, a little help here!?
Sorry to burst your bubble, but LTS does not improve your downloads for STO in any way, shape or form. You have to DL same as everyone else, since there are no queues for downloading patches AFAIK.
LTS only gives the benefit of (supposedly) jumping to the front whenever there is queues, but remember, you are not the only LTS holder, so those you see in the queues are most likely other LTS holders that are infront of you again...
It will be slow when all STO players are trying to DL LoR at the same time, it sucks that it's slow going, but that's how it is.
Queues are also to be expected, LTS does not grant you instant access to the servers, you only jump ahead in the line...
Also guys, you must be aware that this is the patch day of STO's first expansion so everyone that left the game, everyone that used to play it at a point, everyone that plays, everyone that watched Into Darkness, everyone and their mother, brother, sister, aunt and dog is trying to patch STO and get some of the LoR sweetness. So it'll take a bit of time. Nothing to be nervous about, just imagine how you'll feel when you sink in all the awesome new content when you finally patch.

*Ahem* A F2P should be at the BOTTOM of the totem pole. If you don't put money into the game, you should be at the bottom of the list of importance. Then gold, with lifers at the top.
Faster queues, more control over who joins in an stf, perks, etc. PREFERRED loading status, with less lag time when server is overloaded.
I am obviously a lifer. I bought legacy pack first week it was out. Now there's ANOTHER ship i wil have to buy (I collect,) and I prepatched all this TRIBBLE already. 2.5 hours and counting. 4%. Awesome.
I was not chosen for tribble test, nor could I patch tribble at a speed greater than this, and sorry, I had better things to do anyway. So I bought somethijng that I wasn't able to PLAY or practice on...Hm.
That they added a ship to AFTER I bought it...
That will take me several hours to patch...
Even though I prepatched...
All because too many people are patching at once (a theory I have seen echoed and proposed all day, and has been known to happen in the past. Why? More players. Most players are...? F2P Hence, too many freebie players wasting my time

(Yes, I'm a lifer too, so I'm entitled to whine in this thread! And to do other things, such as go away, get a good night's sleep, and hope it's all settled down a bit better in the morning.)
(Actually... so far, it's not gone as badly as I thought it would. I know, I know, famous last words.....)
All i saw was a TRIBBLE slir of words thrown together that made little sense so good job
