Restarting launcher does not work for patching

I've restarted the patcher 7 times and confirmed that it doesn't speed up the process. It just picks another point in the download to hang.

Get your recommendations right Cryptic.

    Even better when I re-started my launcher it won't let me log back in, telling me that my password is invalid or incorrect (even though it clearly still works as a PW log-in)

    Yeah, I can confirm that restarting the launcher is a load of bunk. Ive been patching for an hour and a half now, its crawling along and only needs to patch 300mb. Why on earth is it taking this long?

    was a near dead stop at 81% now about the same at 37% lol. damn launcher has been patching everyday for the past week.

    I relaunched it 4 times and now I am downloading at 4-11MBPS as apposed to 0.1mbps before that... gone to 22% now

    I left mine alone and it sped up all by itself and finished in no time.

    find it interesting that everyone that has said it has improved has only done 4-5 posts.. something smells

    Well here's another one that only have a few post history. I'm a pre-beta lifetime member but I don't really come to this forum as we have a private group that I play with. I was gone from the game for about the last 12 months though and only came back to check out the new Klingon content and the Romulan launch. I started patching before lunch and after 2 hours was at like 1%. Came here. read the message and re-launched and now I'm at 21.6% in under an hour. Not great but much better than before.

    It worked for me. I restarted the launcher and finished it in just a minute or two.

    Do I have enough posts for you?

    Well, everytime It starts patching, I get an error, and the launcher collapse...

    I blame 3rd world internet!! p.s. i have also got like 60% in like 3 minutes so it's working fine

    My friends are now making it as far as retrieving list of characters, then getting an unknown login error, one has even triesd so much it gave him the message his IP is now Banned.

    Restarting the launcher did actually work for me, but I suspect only because it was right after the thing spontaneously restarted anyway and refused to let me log back in. One manual restart later and it was fine, patched in no time - And hey, if the patch server glitched and kicked everyone off, more bandwidth for me!

    Sadly, like everyone else, I now can't log in anyway "for unknown reasons". So I guess it's time to call it a night, I'll try again tomorrow...
