All told, the Warp Core slot is designed to add a lot of choice in how you configure your ship's power settings and Engineering abilities.
There are tens of thousands of possible cores out there to find and use, and tons of new builds to make with them, so good luck and happy hunting!
That is a lot of possible cores and many different ship configurations. I can't wait to see this go in effect.:)
The singularity cores are even more interesting, trust me its a nice touch. Oh wait till you see some of the end game cores ( warp drive mk 11 common 100% recharge to slipstream ).

Until Cryptic removes the slipstream global cooldown, the 100% recharge to slip stream will remain useless. You can see this now in the present patch when you use Omega Hyper-Impulse engines in sector space.
Has anyone seen a database on theses New Warp Cores yet
Not yet. I can tell you, though, that the Warp Cores in Dilithium come in three varieties, though I forget exactly what they're called.
Different kinds boost a different power subsystem's max by 5 (meaning you can get 130 power, instead of 125). Each of those kinds has a thing that turns 7.5% of the power in a particular system into bonus power for another system (like, 7.5% of your Weapons power becomes bonus Shield power).
There are no warp cores that raise the Weapons power cap for obvious reasons, by the way. Only Shield, Engine, and Auxiliary, though those types do have subtypes that allow you to use Weapons power to give a bonus to another system.
I plan on running with a shield-boosting core that lets me turn weapons power into bonus shield power. I always run with high Engine power, so that works out well for my play style.
What I like is that they allow you to CONFIGURE without increasing net power levels.
Meanwhile, I wish they had similar mechanics to singularity cores for the KDF (and maybe the Feds) because a separate resource management system opens up mechanical differences.
You could have a Romulan ship that has the same basic stats as a Fed ship and it will play differently because of the singularity resource.
If they could do that with Klingons (as opposed to unique C-Store consoles or flat out buffed ships), I think it would make playing a Klingon more interesting. (Note: I'm not suggesting a clone of the singularity resource. I'm thinking of a rage/mana/combo points/focus type variation. For example, maybe Klingon ships could manage crew morale to launch special attacks so that Klingon players find themselves in a raging Klingon mindset when attacking; more emphasis on attacking at close ranges, making sacrifices, taking hits, valorious gameplay.)
I am hoping that they add many more special sets, the problem with this game is there is not enough variety and unique gear. Balancing wouldn't be as much of an issue with more options.
I would like to see how this has an effect on exchange prices on some gear. I am limited on my Galaxy X class starship on setup as I have 4 engineering, 2 science, and 3 tactical. I didnt want to get rid of my cloak so I had to move my Zero point console from engineering to science then when I picked up a Mk XII field generator console I moved it to science so I could run the mk XI rare and the Mk XII very rare. Now with this I hope to drop the Zero point console completely and use the warp core to buff my weapon power levels.
The other thing is they need to make it where you can use different items and get simmilar results. It seems like everyone built as a tank is using a mixture of borg and maco gear. I dont know about now with the new fleet shields that you can get at T5 that adapt and take a beating quite well.
Fleet Warp Cores are coming! We probably won't make warp cores for existing sets like MACO/Honor Guard, but future sets will possibly include Warp Cores as well.

What Cryptic should consider before releasing anything.

It is a peculiar phenomenon that we can imagine events that defy the laws of the universe.
Probably in the next Season update, I'd imagine. I'm just guessing though.
Coming...
Soon(tm) :P
You'll hear more in the coming weeks!
