Same here unfortunately. Got 66% done in less than 10min without receiving anything, left my computer for 1 hour, now at 78%.
At this rate the server will come back online and I will still be patching:

    Patched: 4812.6 MB / 6074 MB
    Received: 711.2 MB 78%

    as of this post.

    Misery loves company :P

I have good news for you then.. i didn't pay attention all the time, so i don't know when it happened, but it seems to speed up again after some time.. suddenly i am at 97.6%, YAY!
Now there it seems frozen since 5 minutes though. Noo don't do that to me!
We want to keep the foundry.

    Funny thing.

I just got a Vision of Brandon and his staff sitting together with coffee and donuts, following this thread and laughing about all us silly users waiting to log in while the real maintenance is already done since 30 Minutes..

Am i right Bran ?

I do also believe, in their defence, that this is the first six-hour break they've had in months.

who told you maintenance will be done at 19:00 PDT? will be over at 19:00 UTC, that mean GMT+3, 22:00 in Romania.

Got all my patching done in less than 20 minutes, god I love fibre optic Broadband. That's both holodeck & Tribble servers

Done and done, took me about five minutes to patch due to testing last weekend :) just awaiting the servers to go back up.

Same here. Done and ready to roll. Took me a little under an hour on a crappy third-world connection but, hey, who's counting? :D

    Thank you Cryptic for pre-patching!

Then I don't get it. How come you downloaded 2.6 Gigs in the same amount of time I downloaded 0.2 Gigs?

Do patch servers give different speed to different parts of the world?

PS. I have 50 Mb/s connection and it's working fine. The problem is not on my side.

Depending on where you are in the world the connection between you and Cryptic have many, many nodes .. if any of the nodes between you and Cryptic are having any issues, you'll have a slower speed. Neither you, nor Cryptic can do anything if the issue is with nodes between you and them.

Seeing as lots of people are connecting to Cryptic with adequate speeds, and you say you have no issue on your end, it sounds to me like you have some intermediary nodes having troubles.

They should rename the FAQs to TATATFAQs (The answers to all the frequently asked question), then maybe people would read them instead of asking all the questions here that are already answered in the FAQs... ;-)

    :D

And very well deserved too. Bugs and crashes aside (every game has them so naysayers please shut up!), the whole PWE/Cryptic team has done an outstanding job both in upgrading the game to a whole new level and keeping us up-to-date every step of the way.

Kudos and respect to all of them.
