Yay or Nay? When the game launched it was probably a damned good investment, especially if you're still one of the players heavily involved with the game now. I've probably spent next to roughly ?200 ($300) already on individual purchases (most of which have been wasted on lock boxes); I'm never buying another damned key again. I've also got 5700zen saved up for LoR.

Three years on, and with news of the recent lifetime discount, I'm tempted to make the purchase. It's only roughly ?130 ($200) now. Is such truly worth the purchase this far into development?

I like my VET Reward stuff. I like my 500 Stipend each month. On days like today I'm sure I'll LOVE my queue benefit. :)

And don't forget that the current price doesn't include VAT for the European players. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I picked up the LTS right about the time they changed the price to $300. I'll be honest, when they decided to go F2P, I was a bit miffed and stopped playing until maybe a few months ago. The game has improved, and I'm glad I don't have to worry about a monthly subscription to play the game (plus have all the benefits as a sub).

Worth it? Sometimes. It's all subjective to you.

I'd forgot about this. I'll need to find out how much extra that's going to be. Anyone happen to know?

yeah, 15% to 20% can be upwards of another 20 euro or pounds roughly. so a word of warning on that bit to the op.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

It was well worth it back then and I believe..., even more so now.

I bought the LTS at first launched about 3 yrs ago or so. Well worth it and so glad I did it. The stipend does help as well. I'm sure there will be more factions coming in the pipeline as DStahl mentioned so who knows might be a good investment....at least I got my money back...:D

Is it worth it? Yes just to be able to author Foundry missions. Plus I would have spent the money anyway on stuff like ships. So my 500 a month stipend over a period of time has become like playing with house money.

    Most definetly Yay.

The more people do this, the more money Cryptic makes. The more money they make, the more likely it is that we'll get more expansions in the future.

    Plus, shiny rewards.

    If you're in the UK it's 20%.

The last LTS I bought on a new MMO was $180. A $300 "sale" marked down to $200 is no sale, as far as I'm concerned. YMMV.

I'd say it depends on your situation. Do you see yourself playing STO for years to come? Do you have the funds available to pick one up? Do you like all the goodies (or enough of them) that come with the LTS? Then I would say yes, it's totally worth it.

Is it worth it? I honestly couldnt say. I am not a life time member and I doubt I will be as I can think of a lot better things to spend $200 on and get more use out of than a game. Ive probably spent close to $100 already and to be quite honest if I knew that theres a guarantee that the game will be around for the next 10 years then maybe I would spend $200 and get my money`s worth but what happens if I drop $200 today and 3 months from now the game dies. I could have used that $200 and bought the car cover I need with a 4 year warranty and I would still have it.

I cant make a recomendation but you have to think about if you think it is worth it for you to tie up $200 or more into a life time subscription.

No it's about 150 pounds. As for if it's worth it. Do you see yourself playing in over a year from now?

If the answer is yes then that is the answer to getting one. If the answer is no then that is also the answer to getting one.

Purchasing the LTS is all dependent on what you want from the game. I decided against it because you get pretty much everything for free anyways. Instead I wait until there is a promo on cryptic points and then I have a ton to get what I want instead of saving up enough through the stipend. But I am also a more casual gamer with two kids under 3, so I probably play 1-2 hrs max on any given day. Also, most of the stuff you get Imo isn't worth it. I could care less about an accolade title, especially one that is purchased. I also don't care if I have an android boff, or can play as a liberated borg or if I can create content. I would recommend though purchasing a sub for a month before max leveling your toons. .... I leveled a few character to level 39 then did a sub to get at least one "free" repec token and the VA ship token upon reaching level 50. I also got all the bank slots too. After you sub for a month and cancel you get to keep everything.

Scratch that, in this case this purchase works out cheaper for the EU than it does for the Americans in conversion it seems :)

Just go look at the EU price on the french and german versions and covert yourself

As to wether I think it's worth it, yes, but then I have had lifetime on a few games for a longtime.

For me it's just basically spending the money when I have it, and than knowing it's paid for. I usually save for large purchases and use money I have had gifted for Birthdays and Chritsmas so I don't drain the house budget for luxery purchases.

So for me convieniance is a large part of it, and it's always nice to come back after a few months break and see that stipend has piled up :)
