When I first beamed down to the station on the Coliseum mission I was contacted by "Rebecca" who I had never seen before and was not a member of my crew.

EDIT: Rebecca was joined by another stowaway named "Xelax"

I think it's one of the generic BOFFs the game uses as contacts. I notice they pop up sometimes when you don't have a specific BOFF in a ship slot. For instance, my Romulan character had all of his BOFFs in the away team, and a mission required getting hailed from the ship. When I was contacted by the ship, it was one of the three generic ones. Rebecca is one of the three Federation generic BOFFs.

Edit: I've had Xelax pop up on early Fed characters, as well as the early stages of my Romulan.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!

They should be Romulans and Remans, not Starfleet and KDF. I hope this is fixed before LoR launches, though I suspect it will not.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Yeah, I meant to specify that this was with a Romulan character allied with the Federation. I've just been playing it so much that it became an assumption. The curious thing is that the backdrops for both Rebecca and Xelax are from the satellite/station and not from the ship. So if anyone should be contacting me in that fashion it should be one of my away team. I also have three other bridge officers that are on standby, so one of them could function as a ship contact as well.

I'm curious if it matters that my away team is the exact same almost as my bridge station crew. I might rerun the mission with an alternate away team to see if it has any effect on whether or not Rebecca and Xelax show up.

Also at some point I will get around to making KDF aligned Romulan to see in any placeholder boff contacts appear at strange intervals.

they do! Sometimes it Klingons. occasionally its a Fed.

IMO its not just one issue. Its the entire "alignment" nonesense they should just do away with but I also think the way they handled our crew has many issues. Seems that some things are hard coded to Tovan or Satra and if they arent slotted or "available" it just creates a generic BO.

Havent tried it since the wipe but the last go round I found Tovan so annoying that I didnt use him at all. So I would get a Bolian when it was supposed to Tovan butting in with yet another unwanted comment.

While on the power draining satellite, I received calls from a Bolian named Fressa and an Andorian named Talan. No idea who they're supposed to be. They're not my bridge officers or duty officers.
