A Rogue Federation Ship for a mission (Suggestion)

I was thinking of a mission which you have to be in a group of five, a task force mission. It is a space as well as ground combat mission.

I wrote a small story, just to get it out of my mind, that Section 31 had been developing a ship (details below), in order to 'solve' Starfleet's unending issue:
    - Federation-Klingon War - Safety of New Romulus - Tholians Incursion - Trueway - Borg

Section 31 will use this ship to show fear to those who threaten Starfleet. A Starfleet insider in S31 informed Starfleet of this. Starfleet feared that it might portray the Federation in negative light, so they send 5 captains to destroy the ship.

You will never get to see the exterior of this mysterious ship for the entire duration of the mission (except space combat), even ground combat inside the mysterious ship (drydock).

I wished Cryptic had more missions which can utilise the character's skill, Engineer, Science and Tactical while on ground, like the very first official mission (The Azura Mission). So I will detail this out.

As Engineer, what can you do to affect the ship's systems (all):
    - Lower is power systems - Slow the recharge rate of the weapons

As Tactical, what can you do to affect the ship's systems (all):
    - Higher chance to disable sub-system - Ability to penetrate shield of this mysterious ship

As Science, what can you do to affect the ship's systems (all):
    - Half the ship's shields - Higher chance to disable sub-system (but not at high as tactical) - Slow the recharge rate of powers

Once done, you have to plant the explosives on several areas, so that it would disable the ship later.

You beam out and your fleet escapes, however, the mysterious ship, undocks from the 'shell' drydock and pursues your fleet. Your fleet manage to return to Sol System, just behind Moon, and are on the way to Earth.

The mysterious ship, approaches from behind and attacks your fleet. The earlier ground combat, will determine how well the mysterious ship will perform.

To your horror, this ship can outgun and outnumber you, even in a fleet of five, so I believe an achievement is possible, defeating the mysterious ship without crippling the mysterious ship during the ground combat.

However, during the course of the space combat, the mysterious ship manoeuvrability is sluggish, and the captain of the mysterious ship is angered that you planted the explosives and crippling few of its power generations. But, with its automated systems, it will be bypassed in 60 seconds. This will be a window to deal some damage to the ship.

Franklin Drake will contact you, and apologise for S31's actions after destroying the ship, and hoping to work with you someday.

Details of this mysterious ship...

I hope it is playable to characters, and can destroy a Vor'cha. These are its stock configuration.

Physical
- 2.5 times larger than the Odyssey Class
- Crew of 300, however, less chance of crew recovery
- 2 nacelles (not a sandwiched nacelles)
- 4 impulse engines (2 on the saucer and 2 on nacelle pylons)
- Probably 50 decks physically, but less due to its advanced computing system, and running automated.
- Hull design looks darker than the Type 4 hull design
- NX-100001, USS Rogue

Weaponry

Fore:
- Two quad-cannon (specialised), 270 degree arc, has 600 Phaser damage, standard recharge time, firing speed = to turret
- Single dual beam turret, 360 degree arc, 200 Phaser damage, standard recharge time
- Single Prototype Phase torpedo launcher, 100 degree arc, has 5000 kinetic damage, standard recharge time (photon torpedo), 30% chance to penetrate shield

Aft:
- Single quad-cannon (specialised), 270 degree arc, has 600 Phaser damage, standard recharge time, firing speed = to turret
- Two Prototype Phase torpedo launcher, 100 degree arc, has 5000 kinetic damage, standard recharge time (photon torpedo), 30% chance to penetrate shield
- Single dual beam turret, 360 degree arc, 200 Phaser damage, standard recharge time

Engines
- Speed is as good as an escort
- Slow turn rate (Galaxy Turn rate)

Systems
- A deflector that can resist anything and good hull strength, and hull repair
- A shield system that has 6900 shield cap, and 300 points of shield regeneration
- Engine, while at sector space, this ship can travel at warp 20, and advanced slipstream

Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Commander Tactical, 1 Commander Engineering, 1 Commander Science, 2 Ensign Universal
Console Modifications: 5 Tactical, 2 Engineering, 4 Science
Hull Strength: 79000
Base Turn Rate: 5 degrees per second
Shield Modifier: 2.00
Impulse Modifier: 0.47
Maximum Warp: 20
+15 Power to Weapons and Shield
Not a carrier.

Notes:

The ship is design to defeat up to a Vor'cha class (including modified versions), since this ship wants to show that Starfleet is powerful. Thus, faster, stronger and bigger ship is need to show this. That is why 2.5 times larger than the Odyssey.

The size also a functional thing. Since the ship can operate by one person, and the rest automated, I believe more computer cores are needed. Thus, larger space may lead to more computer cores.

Less chance of crew recovery rate, it has only one large sickbay, and this ship can operate only one crewmember.

In a nutshell, this ship is design for war. Why am I suggesting this mission, is because, there is no mission challenge your decision as a captain.

See if you can guarantee the safety of your own crew during this mission.

    sounds like a good foundry mission if we could do something like this....but as a player ship that is WAY!! Overpowered.....i mean damn a commander station for each carrer....insane shield regen and capacity....that and all the weapons you mentioned dont exist.

    I find this line of replies sadly hilarious. We put a lot of work into the massive list of fixes/changes above, and ya'll are hung up on the ability to skip our content. =p

    Not that it's a bad thing... but this ship and background kinda sound like the Vengeance from Into Darkness.

    oh yeah as a NPC im all game for it lol...would LOVE to be able to do a uber powered npc ship for a foundry mission...there are times i just want to try and solo a tactical cube like in ISE...but cant because we have no option for anything that high in hull....highest I'e seen is ~92k hull for a borg cube on elite setting for foundry missions.

    Great mission concept but majorly overpowered for a player ship, it also has an obvious weakness that will make it about as hard to kill as the CSE carrier but, hey...

    ...Also, why would you need such a bloated vessel to defeat a Vor'cha? Those get blasted to pieces all the time. (Though in PvP, mostly when there's a team that knows what it's doing on the other side)

    Funny, that reminds me of a Star Trek P&P I mastered once. We had an incredibly obnoxious but brilliant engineer who also worked on designing the ship the crew was playing on. However an earlier design of his, an incredibly big Prometheus-type ship had never been realized. Too aggressive, too expensive etc. I had planned for Section 31 to build it and commit acts of terrorism against the Romulan Empire, leaving no survivors until they miss some and the ship of the players picks them up.

    As an always useable player ship, no.

    As a ship the player is given in pvp 'kill the enemy dreadnought' scenario?

    As a ship an NPC is given in a non-borg STF?

    hell to the yes.

    I observed that only Teradome is the only mission where you can get to defeat a small tough little ship, but you will get through waves of Undine ships before defeating the copied ship. Plus, it is not an STF.

    I know, I was like laughing while imagining five people in a Borg STF, OPing Donatra with the ship that I proposed.

    It is possible that Cryptic might have develop quad-cannons, have no idea how to implement it.

    It runs mostly on automation, I was inspired by TOS: The Ultimate Computer, and ENT: Arc: Romulan interference. You are forgetting that a larger ship might not equate to same internal volume, few decks might be rendered inhabitable, which a Galaxy-class does.

    Sadly, we never see such OP ships (canon) in STO, like the Narada-type. To addon, my suggestion seems more realistic. A ship, that is large and powerful is able to take down a ship singlehandedly, while seeing four pulse cannons fired upon. Compare it with a tactical cube, just a single pulse shot and your ship is flying apart.

    But there is no Section 31 ship, all of the foundry mission I played are mostly 'stolen' Federation ships.

    No, this is not Into Darkness-inspired, it happened to have the same plot lines. This was done last year, during December. :)

    I decided to go upon a dark-looking ship, since in BC, the Section 31 ships are basically darker version of the Federation ships. Oh yes, the ship *might* have technology used from Wells-class.

    My 40 (yes 40) part foundry series starts off with a rogue Federation Admiral and his Oddy ship

    though its the aquarius class attached that is his true main ship, just type in dariuskoronikov in the foundry search and look for the Olympus trilogy, you won't regret it
