Devil's Choice Final Space Battle

The very last battle with the command ship and two flanking dreadnoughts is virtually impossible. I played the mission and was faced with not only the command ship and escorts, but at least 8 "cruiser" class, and a dozen "escorts" accompanying them.

I'm all for difficult space battles, personally most of STO doesn't seem challenging enough until you get to STF's with the Borg, but this is just too much. As soon as you respawn, you're killed because your allies are "repairing" and the entire fleet focuses on you.

I tried killing each wave entirely as they came, thinking I just had a build-up, but that didn't help either. Please fix this, it seems like such a fun thing!

i reported on this issue almost a week ago when i had open beta testing time. im amazed they havent fixed it yet. the nerd rage will be unbelievable when everyone else gets it. again cryptic devs should jump in front of the issue before it becomes a problem.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

The way i got through it was hit and run using evasive manuevers for the speed boost transfering power to engines when i had to run.
Use the battle cloak early and often wait for the fleet to heal then when they took after the fleet run in pick one off then run again cloak and wait for the fleet to repair.

The battle took about an hour or more to complete but i did not die once came close a couple times but got through it.

But i agree way to hard for the casual gamer this needs a tone down in a major way

Oh yeah forgot i was using a Ha'Feh (i think thats the right name for the tier 5 tac ship)

so best advice if you dont have a ha'feh use your mogai you need DPS and speed to do a capable hit and run during this battle.

This mission was way too hard i mean really i was using my best starship and got killed 20 times, I'm not kidding and then everybody dies after the first or second fleet of ships this is absolutly rediculous. I used to love star trek online but if this is how the new missions are then you can count me out.

Well, you could always do what I did...while cloaked, I noticed the Elachi ships followed me no matter where I went, so I led them to the edge of the map and parked myself there. I went to the forums to see if anyone had reported this, found nothing, I then return from my search to find I had magically completed the mission. If I had to hazard a guess, me leading them away from the allied ships allowed them to repair themselves and take out the command ship. Not exactly how I wanted the battle to go...but hey, a win's a win right?

Oh, did I mention I died about 10+ times in the D'D? Yup, I got thoroughly decaffeinated after my weak support screen got themselves perished with extreme prejudice.

After my seventh death I hit the cloak and went to check the boards to see if there'd been any other reports of this mission having an insane difficulty spike at the third wave. By the time I'd read through it, I went back to find the mission had ended itself without any input from me!

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!

Something I noticed is that the Romulan Fleet is wiped out in the first few moments of wave 3. Once it starts I fly up above the main fight. It's nothing but crescent waves of death early on, so best avoided. I then target the Command ship while my Fleet is exploding. It helps to be off to the side either left or right. That way you only have one additional dreadnought targeting you. After a few moments I have the Command Ship good and pissed and pulling it away from the main force. Once it's drawn away, the allied Fed and KDF ships mop up the rest quick. When the dreadnoughts are down I lead the Command ship back down into the fray. With your ship + allies the Command ship goes down fast.

Doesn't need to be this difficult. Period. I gave up after the eighth death, and hadn't done more than scratch one of the dreads. I didn't have anywhere near this amount of difficulty taking Sela's ship, and a Scimitar is supposed to be one that even makes a Klingon pause. Either it needs to be toned down as far as the overlapping cones of death go, the shield and hull needs to be dropped by a good 30 percent, reduce the number of ships, or scrap the mission entirely and redo it, because it's the only blemish on the entire Romulan arc.

It's touch as hell yeah, but I LOVE it. What I Would suggest tho is the fleets that help you in rounds 1&2 are still there for the final battle...

Wolf, the fleet is still there at Wave 3. It just... kind of blows up in the first minute.

I dont know how much i died because i was using d'deridex and i destroy one of the bigger ships until i realised today one of the bigger ships had command added to its name so if i realised in the first place to destroy that ship first i would see the fireworks when they were attacking eachother and not lead to neverending battle where my patience would wear thin
