Recently there is a major increase in wow your hack/cheat etc.
I think we as a PVP community should point the people in question to PVP boot camp,
I am just getting fed up with the people saying it.
I was pugging it up against a premade the other day in my bug. 3 healers 2 escorts, at the end of a game. We won 15:2 only due to a pug on my-side not even 3 healers could save his back side he was damn squishy. Good job they focused on me being the heavy damage dealer. Majority of the kills come from me bug Vape-ing the premade, the rest of the pandas would of been proud of me! Apparently I one shot a recluse which caused this:
I got a message saying "my ship is invincible, I have been taking video, you killed me n one shot and I have reported you." from the guy in a recluse after the game.
apparently after a few tells of me saying mate no ship is invincible and such he basically come round to me and say he spoke to a GM and he believe I'm cheating.
I wont lie I laughed so HARD, I almost wee'd a little in my boxers. I suggested boot-camp if they wanted to learn PVP he went quiet.
Speaking to others recently, there seems to be a growing cause for concern.
I think something need to be addressed around this but unsure how to place some sort of policing in this climate any ideas?
I run anon/privacy out the wahzoo. I don't get any tells.
Oh wait, I don't get any tells!
But anyway, it's an ego thing, imho. Their egos get in the way of their dying being a learning experience. They don't take the opportunity to learn more about game mechanics, what actually took place - what the other person did, perhaps what they could have done differently. It's much easier for the ego to consider the person that killed them (or didn't die - or whatever) is cheating/hacking than it is to accept that perhaps that's just the way things work or that they may need to do something differently.
Boot Camp won't help them with that. It will help the folks without the egos that are interested...but the folks that are too blind, too high on their horses, to accept reality...yeah, they just need therapy.

happened a few times to me too. i point on bootcamp and offer to show them my build. if i got time and that one wanted to i also did some private matches to give some advice.
but not everyone is open for such offers. if they don't stop offending me i just leave them.
what else could one do?
C'mon monkey! Stop trying to stroke you own ego lol
I have to agree tho mate there is plenty of it ,, there is this 1 chap I come across and regular calls me a cheat and blah blah blah ,, and there is just no need for it.
Ps. Praxis can I have them screen shots of ur builds as well ?? Hehe
Killing a recluse is never a good idea. They get all pissy. Especially if you just pop it like that. Especially if there was a panda inside it. They're endangered you know!
Yah not surprised at the tells though. Same **** happened to me. Par for the course.
In the words of Antoinetti Spaettini Rigatoni, I absolve you.
someone on the forums (dunno where i read it) recently had the idea to point to bootcamp on launcher, due to the fact that not every player checks the forums.
also would be nice if while levelling/in pve there would be some more explanations on how mechanics work in different combos.
f.e. with missions that not let you take your own ship, but let's fly you some given builds (just like in temporal ambassor with the ent-c).
It was really really bad today.
One guy constantly crying in C&H because he kept coming at us on his own and wondered why he died. He then got pretty offensive and complained we were using a heal boat to win.
Then it was mentioned how we were all p**sies because we didnt 1v1 him, strangely I had gone against him twice 1 on 1 and he ran away when I gained the upper hand on him. He also declined my offer of a 1v1 PvP. I reported him for being an utter utter douche and being really offensive. No need for that at all.
Second guy went into PvP and cried because he had a s**t build, couldnt even compete with the 2 new guys on our pug team (they self admitted they were new to it), then cried endlessly via PM how much I suck and have no skill because I use a bug ship. A bug ship I might add I did a huge amount of grinding to get. He whined continuously about escorts this escorts that, our team consisted of 2 cruisers, 2 bugships and a non fleet patrol escort, which is pretty much an ideal setup in PvP. He sucked yet it was all our fault for it. That one wasnt reported as he didnt get offensive parse bar calling us all noobs, 'Why dont you get some skill before PvPing' was one of his lines. I LOL'd him before blocking.
Quite a few more tonight but those were the 2 most epic ones.
Ive had my fair share of ranting, Ill admit. Although I am better now. I just hate premades going in, rolling up a pug team, then patting themselves on the back and blowing smoke up their own ar*es for a pug team well rolled. Especially when they were rolling with all they toys under the sun (causing lag for us) and all the glitched hardware they can find.
Revenge was mine later though when I went in as a premade and we rolled them 15-0.
Probably the same people who reported me for using CRF2 on an all cannon build saying that my damage was too OP and I must be cheating. All the mean time their whole premade team probably had 2 tac teams among the 5 of them. Then i offered to help their whole team and they turned me down saying they don't want help from cheaters. Well all I can say is they're just making big bullseye on their ships.
The amount of times I have come-up against a player that is not even aware of TT, and being put on ignore after I have offered to help, has lead me to believe that any action on my part against them probably feels like griefing, so I pick my targets where I know there is fairness in skill.
It's kind of sad watching them struggling through it, just to see them give up.
I really do think about them as part of the future of pvp, and wish I could just say "gg and keep coming back."
I still take a beating routinely, but have found that the greatest challenge to my enjoyment of pvp has been the inevitable domination of pvp by a few.
There is nothing more destructive than that, and why I have always hope that somewhere down the line they would allow new players a safe place just to play with one another of equal skill to a degree.
I cannot even imagine the "wth?" moment that must be experienced by a new player for the first time in pvp.
The stark difference in skills, ships and equipment compared to the early days, can only lead of one determination, "That was a waste of time!"
A very small percentage of people can take that kind of beating and want to improve.
I still pray that they consider introducing a two tier PvP System.
The Standard Queues where ONLY factional + fleet ships are allowed and no lockbox ships of any kind. Where a player is ONLY allowed to slot 1 universal special console. And where boffs have no effects.
The Elite Queues where its the current free-for-all.
So...this is the thread where we brag about killing noobs and then them flaming us/whining for not understanding how we did it?
In that case, I was in a completely random KDF pug match vs. a couple Sad Pandas and the rest Pugs. We ended up winning 15-2 or something like that and there was one guy on our team that was an TRIBBLE about it (apparently he didn't like Pandas for some reason), and then the Pandas started complaining that their allies were noobs even though the Pandas' damage was nothing to write home about and they were both tacs. I don't remember who they were, but they probably remember the match cause the Panda Hater vs. Pandas argument spilled over into OPvP for a good 5 minutes after the match. Anyway, that's my story! Hope you enjoyed it.
PVP is broken in this game... anyone expecting a balanced PVP experience needs to go elsewhere.
PVP in STO will have unkillable targets, and players who can pop others with little effort.
I won't forget to mention all of the P2W that STO has... certain ship builds can be quite ridiculous in PVP thanks to broken mechanics such as very high shield resists, sub nuc stripping all buffs, and extremely high cannon damage.
Lest I also forget over-powered drain/disable sci abilities.
A solo player should not be expecting a balanced PVP environment here in STO.

Shuts them up (sometimes) and hopefully gives them thoughts on how to improve.

teams would see only "Red leader Red one Red two Red three Red four Blue leader" Etc
no fleet names no nothing
and all but team chat needs disabling (including ALL voice servers)

Your point is mute, moving on!
People will always be sore winners and losers. Only when you remove the human element from games will Q.Q cease.
