So far on Tribble, the answers are:

    -Do missions on Nukura
-Two 3-piece sets for space, and ground, among other Tholian-themed equipment (including hanger pets)
-The existing Nukura planet will serve as the adventure zone for this purpose
    Was named Trek17.

Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

From what I saw there's actually 3 ground sets available. the "Nukara" set, the "Crystalline" set, and the "Piercing" set, which revolve around the three cold-type weapons (full-auto, pulsewave, and sword). There's also a ground set, and appropriate tetryon-type weapons and consumables.

Fleet Marks from Nukara are now Fleet Marks. Easy gives 5 Tholian Marks, Medium 10, and Hard 15.

And Crystaline Entity gives like 20 Tholian Marks for Normal and like 43 for Elite.

Then there is turn ins for old Crystaline Set pieces that give 50 Marks. (From what they said, don't think we will be seeing them as rare rewards in Nukara boxes).

    That's it.

Honestly, given how we earn Omega marks and even Romulan marks, they really made things a major pain with Tholian marks. They forget people are grinding this stuff on multiple characters. :(

Ugh, you've got to be kidding. I figured they'd do a 1-1 conversion of how Fleet Marks were awarded (Hard Giving 60, and stuff like that).

Seriously... 15 marks for the "HARD" missions? There's no reason to do the Nukara Prime stuff... just grind Crystalline Entity... simple as that. Elite at that it seems.

I've heard from fleetmates that Azure Nebula Rescue and Vault Ensnared do Tholian Marks as well. Still, I hope they up the rewards, as the idea of needing 1500 marks to get T5, plus whatever is needed for gear, for my 8-9 significant characters, filling that out 15-20 marks at a time is simply impractical.

They added a choice of marks system for these. Not entirely sure how it works, only queue event I've played with on tribble has been the atmospheric shuttle battle. However, according to the queue, it sounds like missions that currently split marks between Romulan and Fleet now give the option of either/or, and ones that involve Tholians give the choice of Nukara, Romulan, or Fleet.

Previously it was announced that Nukia boxes were going away.
    http://sto.perfectworld.com/blog/?p=865801

I checked on tribble, they are still present.
The only change seems to be from Fleet Marks to Nukia Marks.

Any dev posts that they are keeping the boxes now?

Box stuff was still unbound when you opened a box, I guess the Rep stuff will be bound.

The Tribble server has been updated.

    General:
    • Nukara missions will now award Nukara Strike Force marks.
      • Generally 5 for easy missions, 10 for medium, 15 for hard, with bonus marks during reputation event time.

    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=659371
The Crystalline Entity queued event is now available in both Normal and Elite versions.
      • Completing this event awards items and Dilithium, plus a box that grants you your choice of Nukara or Fleet marks.
        • 25 marks for Normal, 40 marks for Elite

And there been no change on Tribble since that was posted. :(

Tholian marks are going to be far more difficult to get compared to Omega and Romulan Marks. And with Ground Set Pieces being 250 Marks.........well you can do the math.

That's why many people I know aren't interested in Tholian Reputation. It's worse than pulling teeth. :(

Another change I noticed on tribble is that elite boxes give you 2 low level items instead of 1 high level item.

I had planned on holding the elite boxes for my new Rom alt. Instead I'll open my elite boxes and hold the low and medium boxes. The low and medium boxes just have a lower chance for the crystal set...unless they have been removed?

15 marks for hard missions on Nukara? No thanks I won't bother, its about as bad as New Romulus, I never go there either.

I think I will do just enough elite CE missions to get my main up to t2 tholian rep for the passive and not bother on my alts. The gear looks pretty gimicky and nothing I really need or want anyway, I already have all the fleet gear and rep gear from Omega and Romulan so I don't want that stuff to go to waste anyway.

I am not even interested in this Tholian story arc or anything about Tholians anyway, they were just a minor species in 1 TOS Episode and had a small part in an Enterprise episode, they shouldn't feauture so prominently in this game like real threats like the borg.

this is worse than new romulus, because you can't even do epohh tag plus there isn't even a daily to get nukara marks, i expect A LOT of complaints coming after LOR goes live, and people realize how horrible nukara grind will be.

Tholian Rep looks like a complete farce. I don't know a single person actually looking forward to this.

The grind is ridiculously awful, and designer Borticus himself admitted in the Tribble forum that the gear you get (and can't earn until endgame) isn't really endgame gear as it's nowhere close to being on par with Omega gear. Think about that one for a minute.

Worst feature of the (otherwise quality) expansion, by far.

Well, looks like I'll be doing it. Just grinding the Crystalline Entity then. Because I'm not going to sit on ground and earn 15 marks for doing the hard missions.

Thanks for letting me know... I figure I'll have T5 by the time the next expansion comes out.

I might do Tholian rep if they give us decent options for earning the marks in space (like they do with the Omega rep). If they force players to engage in ground content to earn space gear, then it's no go. I dislike the ground combat in the game (primarily because I can never get it to render smoothly), and have no interest in doing ground stuff beyond FEs like Path to 2409.

I find the space options for Romulan to be slightly lacking. . .it's two missions, both of them easy. They don't reward much. I've only done the Azure Nebula one a dozen times and I'm already bored of it. Throw in 1-2 more space options, and have the same number of options for Nukara, and it's passable in my eyes.

I'm getting tired of so many resources being put into ground adventure zones, while the closest thing we get to a space adventure zone (Ker'rat) rots away. There are at least 3 MAJOR glitches/bugs that need to be addressed, and it needs new features to liven it up a little more.

Give me space adventure zones with reputation systems associated with them, and I'll be happy.

While its true that this grind is looking to be pretty horrible I'm more concerned about the message it sends out. Cryptic clearly expects this rep grind to hold us for a longer time than either of the previous ones, and that makes me think: Why? Are we to expect lean content after LoR?

So basically the Tholian rep earning missions are Defera Invasion Zone 2.0 well that's another one to avoid then.

Well, this doesn't sound like fun at all.

When I heard Tholian, I thought Omega. I was looking forward to it.

Now that we know it isn't endgame gear and the marks are an uphill climb that needs ropes, I think I will pass.

So Cryptic, when is the next reputation/marks system coming out and who is going to be the next nemesis?

Never going back to Nukara, already been there to grind once.

I also noticed that most of the events got an update to award all types of Marks, yet the stf's were not included.

I wonder why. Could it be that the devs know full well that no one wants to go back to Nukara, and instead would just grind stf's.

      I am thinking yes ;)

They should write up some STFs for Nukara. At least expand it to be more like the New Romulus that has some new missions that unlock as you tier up.

I'm surprised they didn't at least add a daily wrapper mission like for the Romulan rep. It was quick and relatively painless for the amount of marks you get, even if you could only do one a day.
