Everyone and their dog knows that its on the 21st of this month. but what I wonder if WHEN on the 21st will it be released? are "they" going to TRIBBLE the europeans and launch it at 7pm or 10pm? Or...?

when ever they release it they will TRIBBLE someone. it will probably be around the same time as usual patches, but be a few hours longer.

I think the term "screwed" is used entirely too lightly.

Unless this game intends to track "world first level 50 Romulan" and then give a cash reward for the achievement then whoever, whichever time zone and work schedule, has to wait an extra 6 to 12 hours to enjoy the content due to sleep or work can, I'm sure, deal.

likely to be 4pm cet or 5pm cet/ 3pm bst or 4pm bst. which would be 7am or 8am where cryptic is.

No idea, though since it's likely the single largest patch they've ever implemented for the game, I would guess it's fairly safe to assume it will be a good four - five hours, possibly six in the event of unplanned ocurrences.

Though I also suspect that the usual displays of rage, complaining and demands for compensation will be worse than usual, as the Great Entitled display their impatience, lack of understanding and inability to comprehend that the game doesn't revolve around them and what they want.

entitlement issues xD swtor is filled with entitlement claims about downtime and missed hours ect.. dunno if there is a mmo out there that hasnt ran across that sort of display at some point. all i will have to say to them in counter is that they spent time eating, sleeping and other things that takes time out of a sub, so if a person can allow that, what difference would it make having a few hours downtime :P.

I am pretty sure that those people saying "entitlement issues" etc are from US. imagine if the US was in prime game time and thats when they decide to to the maintanence, how many would feel entitled then?

I wish sometimes that US players gets the same treatment as europeans does. then they would start to understand...

We are after all paying even more than US players for same services. yes I pay to play even if it is free.

Everyone who has been here for a month knows Cryptic's normal patch times - as they've experienced at least 4 weekly STO patches. LoR will be patched somewhere between 6-9 AM PST. Unless there's a problem everything should be good to go by 10 AM PST.

Beyond that, keep it all in perspective. There's going to be a lot of people wanting to try LoR. The server is going to be swamped on the 21st and there's probably going to be queues, lag, and crashes. So even if it's patched in plenty of time for you to play expect a rough first couple of days. Anyone who was here when STO launched knows what I mean.

Finally, Cryptic's not trying to "TRIBBLE" anyone. They're an American company based on the west coast. They work on their schedule - and since LoR's not a limited time event, you have the rest of the game's life to power-level a Rom to 50. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

This would be valid if it was just a mere season or maintanence, but this is an expansion, thats why I asked if anyone had any idea of what time it maybe.

But your prob right, it will be during regular maintanence times.

and in some ways you are assuming that there is no race to level 50, there is, a few of my friends are racing to get to level 50 just for the sheer fun of the race. and then it does matter to them what times it will be released.

I hope everyone enjoys the game rather than race to 50, cause there is much more to the game than just the level race.

It's really not going to take a long time. Most of the people will be pre-patched by the 21st. That means it's just a question of loading whatever changes between the pre-patch and final version. That won't be any more difficult then a regular weekly patch.

As far as the race to 50, LoR has around 15-20 /played hours of content to get a Rom to end-game. Some people will do it the first day just so they can complain about the lack of things to do on day 2. :)

As much as it frustrates some people. Cryptic chooses its patch times based on server data: it patches at a time when the data shows the least number of people are using the system - and thus the least number of people who can be inconvenienced. So right now between 6-9 AM PST is when the least number of people are playing STO. I'm sure the guys who needs to come in at 6 AM to start the patching would prefer the slowest time to 9 AM. :)

That's also the time Cryptic launched Neverwinter, so I guess you might be right.

@Cryptic - PREPARE FOR SERVER OUTAGES BECAUSE OF THE ROMULANS FLOODING THE BETA QUADRANT :D

Precisely! It's like complaining about the fact that someone on the other side of the world gets Christmas twelve hours before you do. Or, for that matter, that Star Trek Into Darkness premiered a week earlier in another country!

christmas is just commercial businesses way of draining our money, has nothing to do with the actual date which btw in europe is 24th december and in US celebrated in the 25th so you got no reason to complain. blame whoever decided to celbrate in on the chirtmas day rather than christmas eve.

As other's have stated, the release will be between 6am-11am Pacific Time so that our technical staff of engineers can be on site to watch and monitor the shard since this is a very big release. We are also hopeful that we'll not need queues due to increased hardward and performance improvements going to Holodeck, but it isn't a guarantee.

I've already written off being able to log in on the day based on past experience with Season releases and the current queue times on Tribble.
Hopefully all the new technology will be able to cope with the influx of new and existing players looking to create a Romulan.

From past experiences I would change that slightly.

It IS a guarantee that there will be ques.
It IS a guarnatee that there will be server issues.
It IS a guarnatee that there is going to be issues with lag.
It IS a guarantee that the servers is going go down sooner or later.

and NW gets to get the lag we got when it was released. payback is a harpy...

    Why?

    CAUSE WE LOVE STO!!
