Scimitars for the Romulans.

I'd love to see a playable Scimitar, one as accurate in detail as one in the movie if at all possible.

It dwarfs a sovereign, so does the Vo"quv.

balance aside I'd just like to see it used as a dreadnought of sorts, with a more "in line" Superweapon.

The Scimitar will be a 3 ship bundle, in tac/sci/eng flavors. All ships will have a built Thalaron Projector Cannon, have 1 hanger with Scorpion Fighters, can equip dual cannons, and come with unique consoles.

Tac will get a console that will enhance energy weapons with Thalaron energy for 15 seconds, with a high chance of delivering a nasty DoT to enemy targets that deals damage to hull and crew, and has a chance to spread.

Sci will get a console that will project a sphere of Thalaron radiation around their vessel for 15 seconds, again delivering a nasty DoT to deal damage to hull and crew, and has a chance to spread.

Eng console will enhance the power levels of their ship for 10 seconds, as well as deliver a flat bonus to weapon damage, shield strength, ship speed, and effectiveness of aux-based abilities.

Each variant will have similar but different ship designs, as well as come with the bridge interior seen from Nemesis.

    ...

    TOTALLY UNCONFIRMED btw... :P

I also believe the Scimitar is coming as a $50 3-pack. And we know the Scimitar had a pretty big hangar full of Scorpions, too, so I think it'll be a carrier.

And it's not that big, really. The Scimitar was 800 meters long, most of its size was in its wingspan, and it would be dwarfed by the Ha'apax that'll be all over the game soon.

    Thalaron weapons. Weren't they banned?

If they make them available, i would bind them ONLY to that one ship and make them and the set available through the LOBI store. (like Andorian phasers)

That makes no sense at all, none of the 3 pack special weapons were put in the lobi store Andorian phasers are just blue phasers nothing special about them besides color.

and as for Thalaron weapons being banned, my good friend Obisek knows a guy.

I heard there won't be a playable scimitar at launch, but it will come later and is not supposed to be in a lock box. It will probably be exclusively a carrier sadly.

Personally I think they should make the Scimitar a cruiser/carrier hybrid, give it 4 front weapons, 2 rear and one hangar bay. Give it 3 layouts with different console slots, consoles, and slight variations in appearance.

As for boffs however I think it should be unique for a ship its size, set it up like a bird of prey with 4 universal boff slots, one commander, one lt. commander, and two lt. slots.

Give it the battle cloak like all other romulan ships, but make fighters despawn when their owner cloaks to prevent abuse.

Tholaron weapons are cool in theory but they are illegal according to both the kdf and the federation, so they shouldn't be available no matter how cool they might be when you miss with them every single time you use them because its too easy to just move out of the way.

As for other stats, that would be up to Cryptic to figure out what makes sense and is somewhat balanced.

A 3 bundle ship makes sense.

I doubt it will be here for launch, but I dont think it will be too far off.

It's going to be a monster when it turns up.

I just hope its not Slamek, he was a miserable git!

With Thaleron weapons, I can see them being introduced, and then being massively nerfed.

Also, It is a shame that they 'scaled down' the Scimitar, and it is not the original 'movie' size.

Since when terrorists, like the romulan republic, care about weapons of mass destruction being banned?

I live in an alternate universe, where j.j. abrams and cryptic never existed,
where R.S.E. is what it always should be.

Whenever you summon a Scimitar to protect a Fleetbase, no one has a problem with it using Thalaron weapons, so pretty sure nether will Cryptic when they want players to buy it.

Or they just release it as a jem dread clone with battlecloak and a glorified lance. Even that would give overpowered a new meaning.

I would be a happy President if they have a Scimitar with a kar'fi battle carrier setup.

I can't wait to command a Scimitar; something about the vessel just looks so Epic to me.

I hope that has Cryptic starts to offer more original designs that we get a Reman raider class warbird that resembles a mini Scimitar.

Which is the bigger vessel the Romulan/Reman Scimitar or the Bortasqu?

The Scimitar is about 900 meters long and over 1,300 meters wide. I have no idea how big a Bort is.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
