They should have though of that before making STO, not every players want to play Feds. So some rather play Klingons or others instead. When STO first came out i was disappointed with it.
to be honest, i never wanted to play KDF, ever, until I played STO in beta.
I remember my fed character shot up a bar full of people and I logged out and made a KDF and never looked back.
As a very longtime Star Trek fan I figured at least my kdf can pretend that the feds don't wipe out a bar full of people.
I want the Legacy Pack and I have every intention of getting it but every time I get ready to budget the 125.00 something comes up and I end up needing the money for something else.
The 1st time committed to getting the pack I got hit with a surprise bill from my Family Dentist that should have been covered by our dental plan but I ended up paying it and now I'm waiting to get reimburse from my Dental coverage (not holding breath)
I planed on getting it this past weekend but then one of my Tenants stoves just completely died and I had a repair guy come out and take a look at it he said he could fix it but it would cost me $225.00
So after advising the Repair guy to watch the door on his way out because it will be closing quickly behind him, I went out and bought a new Stove and had it and had it delivered and installed for $350.00.
I?m a little gun shy now but I?ll try to get the pack again when my budget allows for it
That is sad to see other companies take over or laying off the teams that trying to improve or complete the projects.
Anyway for those who want to buy the Legecy Pack, i would think twice if i was you. And another thing, i suppose it would help them put things together that we are paying extra for it. So dont cry to mommy if you made a mistake and not getting what you think you are getting. I would wait and see what happen, hear from others or stick around. Wouldnt hurt to do some research on it first.
I bought the starter pack as I would rather pick and choose what ships I will actually fly, rather than waste money on ships that I wont.
I did the same, plus they fluffed the legacy pack with master keys.. should've stuck with LoR content. Regardless, I'm only interested in the T'Varo and mebbe the scimmy when it comes out anyways, so I feel I made out OK with what I wanted
They added the TOS Romulan uniform and the Haakona Advanced Warbird to the Legacy pack OHHHH HELL YEAH!!!
The Legacy Pack looks pretty good and they've add a couple of items to make the total package a pretty good value.
If there was one thing that I could change in the Legacy Pack it would be to remove the master keys and add in a Z-Store voucher that would be good to claim any one single vessel has an account unlock from the Z-Store.
I'm not big on Lock Boxes or Master Keys so the Z-Store Voucher would be guaranteed additional vessel of my choice.
Looks like I'll be making a transfer from my savings to my checking :P

Not quite the same, but you could sell the Keys on the Exchange, and should have enough ECs to afford one of the lockbox ships from the Exchange.

I feel like I'm the only person not to have bought the Legacy pack yet. :S
The consoles sounds awesome, but, its just not possible (for me at least) to get a use out of all those ships AND all those possible console set bonus combinations in one, two or three 'regular' play sessions! I canae do it Cap'n!
I am holding off my purchase for the LoR, but I am still debating which course of action should I take:
1) Get the Legacy Pack? It is cheaper than buying each ship, and they do have cool consoles, but it's $129, and restricted only to Romulans.
2) Starter pack - just the basic stuff, plus it's only $20. Wait for a Romulan carrier
3) Same as option 2, but use the money saved to buy Heavy Escort Carrier/Vesta for Fed AND a Kar'Fi for my Klink.
As you notice, I am more or less a pet master type of player.
Thoughts?
I was thinking long about getting any of the two packs for quite some time, too (not because of the price, but because I still am annoyed, that they didn't fix some bugs I informed them of a long time ago), but with the new ship added + the revelation of the nice console set bonuses, they sold the "big" pack to me today nevertheless.. !!! So my suggestion.. if you really like romulans in general.. get the big one - if not.. use option 3!!!

I'm not thinking about trying to use all the ships and consoles, the only reason I'm getting it is because I know that I'll be creating at least three Romulans and one Reman Character and having the ship options will work out well for me in the long run.
My Console space will be pretty tight because I generally only run 2 special consoles on most of my builds and these new Romulan Consoles need to be all that and a bag of chips before I'll even consider dropping my Leech or my Assimilator for one of them. (Exceptions can always be made)
They managed to get me for a Starter Pack before they stated that we wouldn't have access to the T'liss skin at T5.
Sort of blew my plans to level a Romulan. And that was the last straw, their TOS hate has gone on too long, so not another dime for anything until that ends. I'll coast on nothing but freebies.
I'm hoping that the pack will stay at it's current price until Friday, finally managed to convince the wife to let me grab it, but have to wait until payday....yes I know I am whipped.

We are in the same boat
One of the main reasons I did not snap the 125.00 Pack up from the start was that I was waiting to get the blessing from my other half and then other things keep coming up that needs our money
I got home today to find out that my Daughter damaged a DJ's speaker at school because she was not listening to her teachers and ended up knocking the speaker off the stage.
If the speaker turns out to be broken, I'm on the hook to replace it
Oh well.... I can't teach her responsibility if I'm not willing to take responsibility for her :P
It looks like with the new additions that I will be buying the starter pack. Let's hope the offer is in place until Friday.

Only for Romulan toons, so unless you're gonna have a bunch of them, not a good thing.
Lots of low level ships. You level fast so they're going to get limited use.
I'm dubious on the consoles usefulness. There's a lot of them, but how many you think you'll actually use frequently? I have piles of special consoles in the bank, that never get used after the novelty wore off.
For me, I only plan to make 1 Romulan. That Romulan only needs 1-2 ships at T5. It has 9-10 console slots. Tac slots get filled with +dmg ones so now your down to 6-7. I don't think I'd be using 6-7 Romulan ship specific ones.
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.
Well i am not trying to play cheap, but use common sense. Another word, if someone is crazy enough and crazy about LoR Pack, then go for it.
I do want them to succeed and improving STO though. Also been hearing that others talking about they didnt like the ways pvp was setup. I like pvp and havent gotten that far yet. Can someone share some details, or should we wait til after LoR Pack and see what gotten better?
I got the starter pack...
1) both ships are pretty cool.. especially the retrofit with its lt comm universal ..which means i can use it pretty much with ANY career as its a 3/3/3 on the consoles
2) the set bonus and the 2 consoles are sweet...
3) it has EBC....
hmm..
4) I probably will be using it alot more than the t5 retro DD i thought i would get...until i got burned out about how sluggish the free one is...and how many times i was destroyed in Devil's Choice lol..I'll probably save the zen i was using for a KDF ship possibly
Well if you want a carrier, might be best to wait. I've already bought the Starter Pack however, thought it was good value for what you're getting. I only wish I could fly the T'Liss skin at T5 .

i got the starter pack obviously, made sense for what i have in mind for the future after someone asked me to rethink on the matter. besides its one less problem to face when it comes time to turn that dilithium i have hoarded up for the LoR z-store.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

from what you describe, that was the last mission on the storyline? thats defense of new romulus, where you get creamed by 3 dreadnaughts? yeah.. well that mission needs a serious design rethink.

The consoles from the low level ships can be used in a pair with the t5 refit versions to give you a boost, so you get the low level ships for leveling and the console. Trying to find a list of what all the console combos do though. Searching the forums is turning up a lot of unrelated posts.
EDIT: Then I glance over and there is a developer post detailing the consoles. =J

Uh, Romulans get singularity cores. So I don't think your scenario will play out.

Yeah, I was stocking up on some nice XI engines for my Romulans... and then found out about the Singularity cores. Oh well.:o

Actually, that feature will be available to ALL the players *regardless of their subscription status* when the new expansion/latest upgrade goes live.
So really, no need to take a subscription, at least unless you are interested in other features (and the C-points to get them)!

Unfortunately, no. PWE Cards, Steam Wallet, etc. won't work. It has to be a credit/debit card payment via PayPal or Skrill.
