Should I hold my breath for more Fed carrier?

While it's GIVEN that there will be a romulan c-store carrier, that is for Romulans, not fed. Thus, I am curious: what's the chance that Fed will have a more carrier choice (either as a escort/cruiser carrier or dual-hangar carrier) in the near future?

I am not entirely with STO's history with adding ship, but only two monthes ago kumari was added. six months ago (i guess) the Vesta was added.

So I am wondering if I should just spend the zen for HEC, or wait for another new carrier that may have unknown stat. Advice would be helpful.

you have the Atrox (AKA "Kitty Carrier" lol) that is the only True full carrier for the Feds that is a C-store ship. Then there is the Dreadnought and Recluse for Lobi ships.

then you have the Vesta and HEC which are 1/2 carriers lol (Fed Escort and Sci to match the KDF Crusier/carrier ships, which CANT use DCs or DHC, despite they look like they can -_-)

I like the Atrox, but i have mine setup to be remanized (complete with the 3-pc space and weapon sets and Romulan Beam arrays)

The Kumari and Vest are established ships. The Kumari is canon, while the Vesta is from the novels (and took convincing to add).

I'd be happy with the ability to just drop the Jem'hadar Dreadnought stats and layout directly onto the Galaxy's frame myself. But that could be just me.

To be perfectly honest, the Federation doesn't really need more carriers. On the KDF side, about the only carrier addition we would need would be maybe a proper counterpart to the blasted HEC. Those complaining that the Atrox is a 'joke' just don't know what they're doing, because the thing has almost the same stats as a Vo'Quv (just has higher shield modifier). They're probably just bitter that they spent 2500 Zen on something that they could've used on the KDF side for cheap.

I won't pretend to know what Cryptic's plans are for ships, as they don't always seem to be logical. . .but I wouldn't hold my breath for another carrier being released.

Agree, there are already plenty to choose from if you include the lockbox ships in the list.

The last time I spoke about Fed carriers, the Armitage was born. So I'm gonna be more careful this time...

...that said, there exists a ridiculous niche of carrier that hasn't existed yet, an Engineering-focused carrier. One that gives up cannons and Subsys targeting for 8 weapons, loads of hull and shield (50k base HP, 1.5-2.0 shield mod), and is a bonafide Eng-slot superheavy saucer-and-nacelle cruiser (5 degree turn) with Comm Eng, LtC Eng, LtC Sci and Lt Tac and 2 hangar bays.

Might even be the Phoenix-class supercarrier from Star Trek Phoenix. That launches 1 hangar of Delta Flyers and 1 hangar of Shield Repair Units fresh from stock, but can buy Miranda frigates from the Fleet store, maybe?

Going by the pattern of Fed ships having X-focused variants of each branch of ship, I'm guessing this ultimate cruiser is coming.

So yes, you may hold your breath. Just that whether your breath is going to hold out longer than Cryptic does to release that ship is another matter.

Pretty soon STO's going to look like BSG with everyone launching Pets to fight rather then Trek. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Whatever, BSG is cool too. If there are a lot of pets running around, it gives the beam boat cruiser something to do. Escorts can't have all the fun in STO.

Escort = rock, Cruiser = scissors, Carrier = paper; seems like a balanced system in theory.

It's already like that in PvP. People calling in reinforcements, mines laying around everywhere, fighters buzzing about. . .battlezones in Ker'rat can get cluttered up really damn fast.

As an owner of both ships, this is in error. The Vesta and the HEC can be equipped with DC' and DHC's. My HEC Armitage is equipped with 2 Fleet Advanced DHC's at the moment.

He means the KDF cruiser/carriers can't equip cannons. ;)

i think there going to make one based off of the star cruiser. one of the three designs already have 4 hanger bays on it. just never used for the purpose of fighter wings. not to mention that it could easily fit the role when other ships, like the Galaxy would need a huge refit to make it compatible.
