Lack of Romulan Ship Options at Admiral Disappointing

domvinadomvina Member Posts: 0 Arc User
Given the large variety of ships available to UFP and KDF characters and that Romulans can use any ship before Admiral why are Romulans locked into Romulan only ships at Admiral?

And if the reason is non-Romulan characters can't use Romulan ships I say let them. If non-Vulcans can use a Vulcan ship. If characters of both factions can commandeer Jem'hadar and Tholian vessels why couldn't they use Romulan ships?

It makes no sense whatsoever.

To maintain their identity as a third faction. The concern amongst players was that Romulan characters would just get stuck into the top-of-the-line Fed/KDF ships at 50 and we'd cease to see Romulan ships in space.

Romulans have more factions ships at Admiral than at any other tier. By far.

I would love to see some different costumes for these ships. As it stands, There isn't much to make a ship feel unique amongst the plethora of other ships.

I believe a lot of us feel this way. The thing is that most costumes are desined on the appearance of similar ships such as the likeness between the Akira, thunderchild and armitage.. That diversity doesnt exist in the romulan world yet ( although to be frank, most of the ships in this game dont come from anything that was canon to begin with. Lets see what time holds..

The Dridthau D'deridex variant and the Valdore Mogai variant should be available as a costume unlock option for the Admiral level retrofit and fleet level ships.

Also it is a lot easier to design variants around the starfleet "formula". Most all the ships share a very flexible design aesthetic.

This very much. I beam out of a mission to sector space and sometimes I can't tell my ship from the other dozen Romulan vessels until I hit the engines.

Change up the lengths of the "wings". And some differing nacelle designs. More hull base colour options. There are numerous ways to keep the basic feel of a class and still give appearance options.

For a game that offers so much appearance customization the lack thereof with Romulan ships is disappointing.

Here's a hint, the "camera" is always centered on your ship.

True. Though if you're zoomed way out (as I often am) and you leave sector space to find yourself lodged in a stack of a dozen or so absolutely identical ships it is rather difficult to pick out your ship without moving or zooming way in.

I agree. I would say that a few new skin options will no doubt be on the Cryptic "to do" list, though I'm loving the re-designed Mogai.

OP let me see if I understand what you are trying to say here. The last I check the vulcans are part of the Federation that mean all their members can use the d'kyr class ship. Same with the Klingons who fly Orion corsair cruiser. The other ships that you are talking about, was clearly Stated they were not going to be a faction in the game that why you have them. Did you ever see in Romulan ships in lock boxes. Can you fly a Klingon ships even when you buy it for your Klingon character they are lock to that character and that faction same goes for the feredation side as well.

The ships you get to fly when you allied your Romulan character to either the fed or KDF are only sold with Dilithium and not bought with the free token you get for Acquiring a new ship.

How else are they going to make you buy new ships in the c-store and have you pay hundreds of dollars for lockbox ships?

They need to keep your options limited so you'll be more likely to spend cash.

Supposedly the Valdore , Dridtau and Dhelan cstore costumes will unlock for the retrofit and fleet Mogai, Deridex and Dhelans.

However since Cstore is disabled on tribble, you cant buy them so you cant unlock their looks yet.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

    This is 100% correct.

Valdore, Dridtau and Dheal costumes all unlock for the retrofit and fleet versions of the Mogai, Deridex and Dhelan.

And correct again, because the cstore is disabled you can't buy them and you can't use their costumes. Even if you buy the legacy pack, you can't access them.

And don't hold your breath to use them in the beta because the cstore has been disabled on tribble for over a year.
