STO 3D Mouse Support

I'm purchasing a 3D mouse for CAD reasons but I was curious whether STO supports 3D mice. I know that it didn't as of 2010 but I'm not sure whether that has changed.

    That might actually depend more on the 3d mouse you purchase and the software that comes with it than with STO.

    Typically for maximizing compatibility there is usually software included that can be setup to translate the controls into a program (must like pinnacle does with gamepads for programs that have no internal gamepad support).

    I attempted to use my 3D mouse (Space Navigator from 3D connexion) and it did not seem to work on STO. I played with it somewhat but I'm not sure if its possible to establish an interface between the game and the software. I'm going to play with it and I'll post here if I manage to make it work for anyone who may be interested.

    If anyone knows a way to do this please let me know :P

    Try Pinnacle game profiler. There's a trial version so it won't cost you anything to try it. It's for gamepads but it might also work for that.
