About Us

History

The Phoenix Division formed in mid 2012 by veteran players, many of whom began playing Star Trek Online's launch or 'head start' in early 2010. They sought a fresh start in a new fleet with involved leadership. We emphasize both individual development and improved teamwork, and gladly provide training and suggestions where needed or desired. The fleet is open to all Starfleet Captains and Allied Romulans.

Objectives

PvE: Much of Star Trek Online can be completed by the solo player, but we find the game much more fun when playing through content with a team. This includes STFs, New Romulus, Nukara, Defera, standard missions, accolade runs, and more!

PvP: We encourage members to try PvP, and attempt to hold weekly scheduled PvP nights against a Klingon house. Many of us firmly believe that the ability a team that perform admirably in PvP will encounter little difficulty in PvE.

Etc: There are times when members grow tired of the usual game content. To break up the monotony, we sometimes hold training events and fleet contests.

Operations

Leadership: Our leadership currently consists of a Leader and several Senior Officers dedicated to performing administrative duties for the fleet. Below them are regular Officers who demonstrate a willingness to involve themselves with leading teams or assisting fleet members.

Fleet Promotions: All other fleet ranks are based on contributions to fleet holdings. These are based on account contributions, so a rank is earned across all characters a player has in the fleet, not just one. Initial promotion beyond Recruit requires two weeks' membership and an easy 25,000 on the fleet leaderboard.

Fleet Holdings: We actively work toward improving fleet holdings, but we find no need to rush and drain our resources. We strive to run full fleet teams during the Fleet Mark events.

Communication: In-game, we generally use a custom chat channel instead of Fleet Chat to permit us to communicate across fleet, factions, and Cryptic games. The only exception is that we always use Fleet Chat during fleet meetings. Externally, we have our fleet website.

Time Zones: The Phoenix Division consists of players primarily from the US, with several members from the EU. There is no time zone requirement to join the fleet, but keep in mind that most events will take place during times when the fleet has the most members online.

Expectations

What We Will Expect From You

Have fun: We won't force you to do things you do not want to do. We don't stem-bolt our members to a bulkhead for phaser target practice (although if that's your thing, we'll try to accommodate). Do what is fun for you, and hopefully the interests of other members will coincide with yours at some point.

No Drama: If you feel a need to create drama, both within and outside the fleet, perhaps The Phoenix Division is not the fleet for you. Fleet members by their actions, collectively build the reputation of the fleet. We do not tolerate fleet members doing things that might discredit the fleet. Causing drama is a good way to get tossed out an airlock.

Involvement: We desire all fleet members to involve themselves with the fleet, whether it involves attending fleet meetings or working together as teams to accomplish missions and tasks. As previously mentioned, there will be no coercion, but we do recommend working together.

What You can Expect From Us

No Requirements: There is no minimum requirement to join or mandatory requirements to maintain your membership. You only need to be a Starfleet Captain or an allied Romulan.

Assistance: There is nothing we enjoy more than helping a fleet member improve their character and gain experience with their build to the point that they become a valuable and competitive teammate in both PvE and PvP.

Understanding: We realize everyone goes through times when real life keeps them from being as involved as they might hope to be. Going inactive for any period of time will not be cause for removal from the fleet unless we have a sudden shortage of membership slots (unlikely). Members in leadership positions who go inactive can expect to be demoted and replaced.

No Extortion: Although promotions in the fleet are tied to contributions, we do not force our members to contribute to fleet projects. If you need to save your Dilithium and other resources for yourself, please do so. We want to see our members able to afford the items they wish to obtain in the game. Of course, if this includes Fleet equipment, you will need to contribute to obtain the Fleet Credit.

Contact Information

Recruiters: Almost all members of The Phoenix Division can invite new members. You can also directly contact:

I'm interested in joining. I sent @daBelgrave an in-game message saying the same thing.

So a Klingon, a Vulcan, and a Ferenghi walk into a bar. The Klingon tried to kill everyone, but the Ferenghi had already sold his weapons, while the Vulcan said, "That just wasn't logical."

OK, I made that one up, right now. Feel free to throw vegetables.

Q: What does a Romulan frog use for camouflage?
    A: A croaking device.
