so ive been toying around with difficulty settings for about a week or so now. {not in stfs its too easy to tell what elite is compared to normal} but in the general missions like the dailies the foundry patrols and what not. what is the point of doing theese things on any other setting other than the easy one. you dont seem to get more loot or better loot. it just makes it harder.... for no reason... at all that ive seen. so please tell me why do we have this option? whats the point of it? challenge sure but i mean come on whats the challenge worth with no reward. nothing thats what. if we choose to do somthing on elite should we not be compensated for doing so? even on advanced we should get a little somthing extra i would think.
It's probally just bad luck. I usually get blue quality gear off of enemy capital ships when i'm running on advanced/Elite difficulty, sometimes even purple gear once in a great while. Just keep at it.
I was a challenge at first running three characters on Normal,
the system was added, and slowly I decided to run through it on Advanced
At this point I figured I should try Elite:
And I did it on KDF side three times....
I have:
Three KDF characters that ran It through on Normal
Three KDF characters that ran it through on Advanced
THree KDF Characters that ran it through on Elite
Six Federation Characters that ran it through on Normal
THree Federation Characters that ran it through on Advanced
I was planning on doing it on Elite... but then the reputation came out.
What I can tell you is that:
Drops are significantly better on Elite, But sometimes requiring a lot of repairs and strategy, even to the point where as a sci char you were counting on Photonic fleet.
Drops on Advanced were slightly better, but sometimes you get a mod on a charcter that has a double mod (which has potential to be a blue item)
OVer all:
If you're new: Play it through on Normal, then scale up from there. I am running Reputation right now... so I really haven't gotten to the point of getting chars through rep at higher difficulty... but I do have a character at Rep 5 that's doing regular missions on advanced. Additionally: Your expertise points are easier to replenish on Advanced.
<|>< . . . <z^>< . . . <zX^>< <( (..) )> oO(There's always a bigger Fish in the sea.)
Its not worth it for getting better reward because the chance of getting something good on higher difficulty is so very low. Only reason to play on harder difficulty is if you want more of a challenge.
