Casual player looking for fleet. I am tired of all of the random blind invites. My in game name is Syn Fatelyng you can PM me on the boards, in game mail or a tell, I dont accept blind invites. Also I am 40+ years married and work full time I play when I can, I am looking for a fleet that will understand that I have a life. If being on voice chat is MANDATORY, Having a particular ship or build is MANDATORY, if being in any kind of Op is MANDATORY, in fact if anything is MANDATORY outside of having fun or a good sense of humor, then you dont want me. If I fit in somewhere great, if not I am enjoying the game as it is.
I only started playing recently, although I was on Cryptic's forums a year or so before the game launched. I guess life just got in the way.
I am pretty much in the same boat, getting married in less than 4 weeks, have a full-time job and a life outside of STO, and a few years younger!
Anyway, maybe we should start our own (casual) fleet?. Also received blind fleet invites, either when I am trying figure out ship controls, or not walk into the wall in a starbase, and have ignored them so far.
Those blind fleet invites got real old super fast for me, especially when done in the middle of freaking combat. Luckily, I found a setting that turns off invites. Lately though, I've been wondering about this whole fleet thing. And a laid back, no mandatory whatever sounds promising. Cautiously optimistic.
Just throw a post on there telling us what your toon name and handle is, and as much or even as little information as you want and that will be enough.
To give you a background, we are a very new fleet, made from players in STO online that met, befriended each other in much larger fleets but got burnt out by the military and corporate running of such fleets.
We wanted to make a fleet just as professional, but ditch all the attendant admin and rules we thought not only sapped our fun, but actually made playing the game miserable as well.
We have one rule, don't be a douche....thats it, and we ask that everyone who joins is over 16 as we don't see why we should have to watch our language, most of us are adults.
Other than that you have no requirments than play how you want to play, we don't even mind you being a part of other fleets we want you to choose to play with us, not enforce it.
No activity checks, no mandatory anything at all, and no ranks, when you start you are a red shirt for 30 days then you get made a member and thats that. We have a GM and members we are very old skool....
Whatever you decide I wish you all the best in your search, and hope you find a good home!

SSO Fleet Understands that this is a game, that it's sole purpose is to escape from the harsh realities of life. Thats why we promise, we offer fun, frolics without the mandatory rules and structure. Come escape with us, we dare you.....
We recently redid out fleet description which I'm going to post for you here as it describes us quite well.
Who Are We?
Built on respect, we're a small, casual group with a rather creative heart -- one family spread across two fleets ... one KDF (Fleet Level 13) and one Fed (Fleet Level 10).
A shared in-game private chat channel keeps us in contact with one another.
We have a teamspeak server, although it tends to be a quiet place. Many of our players prefer chatting in game, saving voice comms for the coordinated operations ... or for when that socialization bug hits.
Many among us are more "lone wolves."
Players who enjoy chatting as they play, but primarily run solo.
Players who on occasion come together in twos and threes to team up for STF, Fleet Mark or PvP runs.
Small but dedicated ... We're still getting the job done.
FED Starbase: Tier III headed to Tier IV.
FED Embassy: Tier I halfway to Tier II
KDF Starbase: Tier IV headed to Tier V.
KDF Embassy: Tier I *almost* Tier II
So, if you're looking for a friendly place where you can kick your feet up by the roaring fire without all the drama ... We might be just what you're wanting.
Also Welcome ... Those Who Love a Good Story!
Many of us love a good story and have over active imaginations ... so why not take it to the next level.
As such, some of us (completely optional) have elected to:
Talk about our characters like they have real stories.
Have elaborate character bios drafted.
Actually write stories and log entries about our characters using a fleet supplied personal blog and fleet forums.
synfatelyng we are not currently recruiting but we do allow the odd person in if they are a good fit? You look like a good fit.
We are a mature (+30) fleet however most of us are in our 40?s. We have no rules and nothing is mandatory. We are very relaxed and we are social first.
We have a good mix of people with a lot of experience and newbie's. Lots of areas that you can explore as a fleet if you are interested.
