Probably was too OP so cryptic will just stick it in the C-store at some point.
Well OP in means of creating massive video lag, then yes. :P

We're still working on trying to minimize the effect lag issues that players were experiencing with this weapon on Tribble and make sure the weapon is as balanced as possible for release. Currently, it is looking like we will probably release the weapon along with Legacy of Romulus, if the effects issues can be addressed in time.
Why does the flamethrower generate lag, but the Embassy Engineer kit turret not? Don't they use the same effect? If not, rip the effect from the turret and slap it on the flamethrower.

im sorry its taken how many months for one.. one single weapon in a video game to get fixed.. yet still not in game... common, get that ball rolling. I know you guys have worked hard on LoR, but this was to be released with the romulan rep so long ago...

I am willing to bet the Flamethrower uses Eject Warp Plasma style animation which anyone who gets close to that effect can tell you causes wicked video lag.
The new Antiproton Sweep also causes a momentary drop in frame rate.

The turret also causes massive frame drops if you're standing in the path of the flame "tongue". From other angles, though, it's fine.

At least it's not like the Android Bridge Officer!

Most of the most recent testing reports on tribble expressed some disappointment in the damage output actually. Mainly because the way it fires can make it hard to keep enemies in the firing arc, I think.
