Additions to ship interiors

We've all heard about the hopeful upcoming shuttlebay in ships, but Im sure other players than me would like to see other additions to their ship interiors. First, an armory. I hadnt played the tutorial in a long while, you start out in the armory of your ship, personally i think this would be an awesome addition, especially for RPers. There was some talk a while ago about adding functionality to the poker table in the mess hall, which would be cool. However, I feel that one of the most iconic aspects of star trek is missing from the ship interiors. The conference room was a central point of most of the series, while it is present in the TOS bridge it should really be incorporated into all the bridges. While it is accessable in First Contact missions, that conference room should be part of the These additions could be used as part of a reputation system, since Cryptic has been fond of that lately. A seperate reputation system accessable once the player finishes the tutorial would be cool, with projects like these, possibly using a new currency. Episode missions and fleet actions could give out commendations or something, which would be used similarly to the way omega marks are used for borg rep. featured projects such as those for fleet starbases could also happen, using strictly dilithium to add new features to the ship.

I was thinking about the conference room the other day, that is should be a standard ship interior. Yesterday I took a bit of a trip through my interiors, and aside from everything still looking way too big for a starship, it all felt cold and lifeless. The Captain's Quarters still look like a doctor's office waiting room, and I have three large potted plants sitting next to my bed, which is enormous, and is still dwarfed by the size of my bedroom.

It all feels so useless. While the Engineering Deck does look like the deck of a starship, the crew deck looks like a starbase, or the hallways in an embassy. I doubt they'll ever do more work on the interiors, but it would be nice to actually feel like I'm on a starship when roaming the halls.

Unfortunately, it looks like they're only going to bother with ship interiors when they can pack it into a Zen-store bundle, like the Belfast or Constitution interiors. Supposedly either a Galaxy or Intrepid interior is being planned/worked on right now.

I just wish that we could use some of those in the "wrong" ship. It'd be silly, but I'd totally use the Belfast interior for a Patrol Escort.

Some side notes, based on what I understand from some of the interviews...

Supposedly ship interiors are even more complex to design than ships, so they are likely want Zen for them.

Also, the interiors are biggest than the TV/Movie sets because the "camera" (your view) needs space to move around INSIDE the room, otherwise you will start getting strange effects like seeing outside the interior walls.

The first and foremost thing I would like to see: My crewmen wearing the same uniform as my BOffs...

I think that's a little too much to ask though.

I'm not sure I accept the "camera space" reasoning anymore. I have the Belfast interiors for the Fleet Escort. They look fantastic, and the right dimensions for a ship of that size. A cruiser will have slightly bigger corridors and such, so why would it be a problem to go slightly bigger than the current Belfast dimensions? Charge Zen if they want. I'd love to see a Galaxy class interior for my Galaxy class cruiser. If they can do this with the Belfast, and they can, and it looks terrific, then they can go a bit bigger without making the corridors and rooms look like they're connected to a Starbase.

After seeing the Romulan ship interiors, I dearly hope that the original ones are getting a look at. They are so...they just look a bit lifeless, which makes sense for the game ages ago, but not today. The Romulan ship interior is amazing, if a bit dark, and I would love, even pay, to see the Fed one get that kind of love.

Good God, I hope so. The Fed ones are absolutely horrible. I hope they do an Oddysey-esque one.

Centersolace and I compiled a (very) extensive list of features for a potential ship interior revamp, based on what many, many players have requested - please refer to the links in my signature.

Our feedback thread is in the second link - thoughts and opinions are appreciated.
