You have got to be kidding......This entire new "faction" will cost players money to actually fly the ships of your new toons race? So lets say i create a romulan and dont spend the absurd $125, (which by the way is absurd for the half job you have done) what happens than? I fly fed or klink basic ships? lol unreal.
Please someone tell me im mistaken here, this is the most low brow thing i can possibly think of
Basic Warbirds will be available for free. This is a discount bundle pack for buying all of the Refit (same tier as the originals but with a different appearance and slightly improved stats) and Retrofit (endgame versions of the originals) Warbirds at once.
That said, yes, it is a moneygrab in some sense of the term... that's what companies usually do, provide services or products for money.
It's been clearly stated that the Romulans will get a free ship - a Romulan Ship - at each rank just like their FED/KDF counterparts. These ships are simply additional, refit, or retrofit ships.
I don't believe that the pack is priced absurdly, in fact it's a decent deal, but it's probably only valuable for those who really want all the extra ships.
I'm a die-hard LTS and a full-fledged supporter of the whole Romulan angle...but I won't be dropping $125 for this. I'll be content with the free ships, and will likely grab a T5 C-Store ship at a later time (when the really cool ships come out and make all of these irrelevant  )
It's no more of a money grab than offering Defiant, Galaxy or Intrepid retrofits in the C-Store. Cryptic just isn't waiting a year to do it for the RSR.
Read the various articles before jumping on the forums and assuming Cryptic are acting as money grabbing villains.
The ships in the pack are mostly lvl 50 Retro-fit versions of the tiered ships you'll be able to access as you level up.
thats precisely why i jumped on the forums, to get opinions. and plese, dont blame me for "assuming Cryptic are acting as money grabbing villains." Very poor track record.
thanks all for the responses, you have restored some faith
From what I have read all these ships will be available in Cstore at Romulan launch, you can buy them individiualy like current c-store ships, I guess this is just a way to get them "cheaper" and have them all ready for you. You still get the free ship token with each level-up like current unless ive missed something.
It would of been more clear if they released the blog explaining the LTS/Vet/Gold perks before this one.
Timing definitely could have been better. They also need to detail the stats on every ship included in the pack. Only the truly die-hard Rommies are going to make a purchase this large sight-unseen.

What does LTS bonuses have to do with C-Store sales? Nothing. My LTS doesn't give me a free Kumari, why would I think it would give me a free Rom C-Store ship?
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Also, in before the merge.
