Just started doing Elite STF ground missions and I can't help but think that there have been a huge oversight with regards to the design of them.
I've been wiping over and over for the last 40mins trying to kill the Borg Queen however my group simply cannot kill it. ideally we all want to leave and call it quits as were just not going to kill it and yet if we try to leave we get a 1h leavers debuff...
For the life of me, i cannot understand why the game would punish people with an hour debuff simply because they could not kill the boss, there simply must be a way to leave a group after a certain amount of wipes without incurring any penalty.
My group finally gave up, everyone else left, i'm stuck in here alone after 45mins trying and i'm basically stuck, nobody else will join, i get debuff if i leave, why am I being punished so harshly ?
Hour and 45mins completely wasted, no reward, no desire to ever come here again.

the 1 hour CD is there just to keep you from being able to constantly grind STFs, and the leaver penalty, that blocks you from all queues is needed to keep people from griefing by abandoning groups. The Leaver penalty should only be affecting the first couple of people who leave though. You should be free to try any other STFs while you wait out the CD on the one you failed, as long as you weren't one of the first to quit.
The problem is now, the space STF's are easy and the ground ones are harder and take longer.
Since all give same rewards, there is no point to doing ground other then getting the optional for the accolade and the costume parts (whenever you get Mark XII armor... however long that would take somebody).
Might as well just do infected space elite since it's so easy and quick compared to any of the ground ones.
The ground missions need a rework to either reduce difficulty (Not saying it's bad, but reaching the end and being unable to complete because of random chance is bull****) or some mechanics rework.
And the space ones might need a mechanics rework/difficulty or length increase to make ground and space ones equally rewarding timewise and reward wise.
Ground pays better: A ground without optional pays better than Space with optional. KAGE is still fast and pays a good deal more than ISE. Cure is still slog, even with the best group, though, due to all the time-based sequences and running around in a maze.

Sorry, but your team is just plain bad.
If you hide behind the pillars, you shouldn't have much trouble with the Queen.
And the leaver's penalty is there because of the problem of people bailing on STFs. Also, there is no leave penalty if you are in a PRIVATE queue.
I find most players are not capable of watching the ground, watching the satellite shooter, and also properly engaging enemies, its too much for most people to handle. Into the Hive is the first real elite mission, and thats only the boss battle because the lead up is pathetically easy.
You will only get a leaver penalty if you leave before 15 min. Once you have been in a mission for 15 min go ahead and leave you won't get a penalty I know because I have done it before leaving Elite ground missions when their was multiple incompetent players and had no penalty.

Most marks I ever got doing ground was 153 with the optional on a KAGE run.
