Andorian Kumari class pve OP?

rocketpunch1rocketpunch1 Member Posts: 0 Arc User
I held off buying the Andorian ships but after seeing how a tactical Kumari soloed 3 cubes and a gate in elite Khitomer Vortex, i might recognizer getting one. The whole game was pretty much a 3 man team after 2 left. He handle the entire right side by himself. I don't know if its player experience or the ship.

Are there any Kumari captains out that can mimic like that or better?

I watched a video a week, or so, ago of a Jem Carrier soloing Infected Elite. These things happen. :)

What you probably have is a very competent PvP player using the ship - someone who has put hundreds of hours into making his build perfect for his play style. Most PvPers can make PvE encounters look like child's play.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I'm in an Armitage, and I regularly handle entire sides in KA alone. A Kumari would probably be better, but for that matter, so would a Defiant or even my Steamrunner. It's less about DPS and more about mobility, when you're at the outside node, dealing with the cube and intercepting probes without getting wrecked by the gate is touchy, but the generators and probes both have pretty low health. Once the outside is down, the inside is easy to handle alone, just about any ship should be able to do it.

As mentioned, it was not the ship but the player. The ship is a nice ship, but it's not OP.

To reiterate, it's mostly the player, not the ship.

Otherwise, you wouldn't have threads like this:

I wouldn't recognizer just yet. The same could have been done in a cruiser even. It's all about knowing which buttons to push and when.

Riiight mostly the player, couldn't possibly be that the escorts have way too much defense or anything.

Anyways, yeah this is one of the many reasons that defense should be made an armor console/number of personnel above 500 only that would solve the problem of the escorts being op in defense and offense similtaneously since we can't have a skill tree that penalizes peoples' dps when they put too much in defense.

Secondly, It's very weird that the MK x phasers on my kumari take down shields faster then my DHC Mk XII all advanced fleet weapons on my other escorts because their all phasers right? I didn't notice anything on those that had a proc or anything out of the ordinary for taking shields out quickly.

Shields are a subsystem affected by the phaser 2.5% proc.

It's the player. Know how to handle your ship, and your abilities, and you can do that with a stock RA vessel.

100% shields proc every time? because that's what I'm seeing whereas the regular phasers do a random./

A good player can do that with the majority, if not all, end game ships.

If it's the ship, and not the player explain this thread then.

It was a very impressive ship and sliced throw the cubes in less than 15 seconds. The special cannon it shots, i might be seeing things but it looked like it did 110k damage

Nah, it's more like the end-game ships are basically overpowered for the PvE element of this game. Really. The NPCs are slow, dumb, and not really that strong outside of their ridiculous one-hit superweapons. One good crowd-control cruiser or sci ship is all you need to handle even the toughest Borg ships in a team situation.

Anyone who really wants to use their end-game ships in a way that pushes their limits and capabilities will use them in PvP. I could do well in most Elite STFs using a Hegh'ta BoP, a free tier 4 ship.
My PvP toon is Krov, of The House of Snoo. Beware of my Hegh'ta of doom.

This ship is OP for pve, but OP is the new ship design rule these days. So is "defenceless and pathetic npcs design". :D

I frequently can and do handle sides by myself in my Atrox carrier. Its really not terribly difficult, even with that slow turning bucket.
