Unable to Send Mail While On Tribble

This has been going on for days and is getting annoying.:(

On Holodeck and Redshirt, I can send mail without problems (other than a little lag).

On Tribble, I can attach items to the mail, or try to send it without items...and everything seems fine until I press the SEND button. That button seems to act like I have clicked to clear the mail instead.

It leaves me looking at the compose mail window still, just with no destination, subject, text or items attached. Any attached items were not taken out of my inventory.

I have tried a force-verify of Tribble specifically. No change.

    I have just tested this.

I sent myself a mail with two attachments on the tribble server, and received them immediately. I however was not taken back to my inbox as was the previous behavior.

Mail is working fine for me, I can see my mail on both tribble and holodeck. Mail from tribble I see only there and can only retrieve the items on tribble, as that is where they were sent from, and is indicated in the message details what is from holodeck.

Post-LoR testing patch but previous to this problem, when I sent mail on Tribble, I could read it. I could see it in my inbox. Items attached were taken from my inventory and sent on their merry way.

However, since this began, the mail is not delivered. Send fails, without notice of what went wrong. This is not an issue of the *other* mail bug, where things taken from fleet bank or just received cannot be sent again without a map change. The game just seems to react as if I pressed to CLEAR the mail instead of SEND it.

No one else seems to be having this problem, but I don't know what to do to fix it.

However, I did notice something in my inbox, while on Tribble last night: There is a mail from exchange 'item sold' that I cannot delete or read. Like it is frozen there.

I don't know if that could have anything to do with this problem.

Edit: the 'stuck' mail that I could not delete seems gone now. May have been a lag issue. However, I *still* (04/05/13) cannot get mail to send. Does the new Tribble code have a mail limiter? I do have a lot of mail still there in my inbox, storing things like excess bridge officers and doffs.

Something else that I notice that is different about trying to send mail on Tribble compared to Holodeck and Redshirt is that when you try to attach items to mail on Tribble they do *not* shade-out and become untouchable on Tribble.

Not sure if that is related to the unable to send bug or not. On Holodeck & Redshirt (and 'old' Tribble before all this), when you dragged an item to mail to send it, it becomes untouchable unless you drag it again out of mail to be sent.

EDIT: Found something else. What I thought was lag causing an inbox mail item to be un-delete-able looks to be a case of doubling incoming unread mail. I've found several other mails that when they arrive, one of them I can't open. I even crashed to desktop once trying to open one. But below it is the real mail and that can be read and deleted. Deleting the 'real' mail makes the copy vanish, too.

As of today's (04/08/13) patch, I still cannot send mail while on Tribble.

There has to be something different about sending mail on Tribble compared to Holodeck and Redshirt. I can send mail and even attach items to mail on both of those servers. Just not on Tribble.

As I had mentioned previously, I have noticed that when I drag an item from my inventory to mail on Holodeck and Redshirt (old UI), the item shades out after it is placed. It does *NOT* while on Tribble.

Today (04/09/13), post-patch, I did not even get to try sending mail. There were some doubled 'item has been returned' mails from exchange on Tribble. I was 3 out of 4 through them and the game crashed. I will try sending mail later, after this half hour data dump from the cryptic error thing finishes.

EDIT: Tried and still can't send mail. Same thing happens: nothing. Pressing SEND acts like CLEAR. I *did* notice that I have a duplicated mail that is listed as being for the REDSHIRT server, from exchange 'item has been returned' sort. But I can see it on Tribble. I can't delete it or see what the item is, while on Tribble. I had thought that items returned from exchange mails are only visible for single characters. That was how it was in the past and with Redshirt and Holodeck. Could this be the change that is causing this problem?

Today (04/10/13), I still have the same issue. Still can't send mail while on Tribble but can on Holodeck and Redshirt. Could I get some acknowledgement that someone at Cryptic is at least looking into this problem or that it is a known issue that will be resolved sometime before LoR Live release?

If Legacy of Romulus goes live and I have this issue on the main server (Holodeck), I will be quite annoyed. I am fleet leader in several fleets and at least once in a while, I would like to be able to send out a fleet mail.

EDIT: Is it the intention of Cryptic to have the Exchange mail saying 'exchange sale expired' for other characters on other servers also show up on Tribble? Right now, I have a mail from exchange addressed as 'Exchange@alk?' exactly that visible on Tribble and stating that it is for Redshirt. It does not even spell out my account @ name in full. I do not see this mail on other servers. it also seems to be duplicated in my mail inbox.

FYI, this is a known issue. :)

The entire mail system has been changed on the backend, and we're still working on it. Everything will be addressed before this stuff hits Holodeck. :)

Lets hope the changes to the mail system include selecting multiple mail and having a delete all selected button. As duno about others but when the mails pile up of exchange sales deleting them all one by one takes too much of my time when in a normal mail client you can select multiple using shift and then right click and delete and its done. Hope thats a change that is coming if not, then Zer0, pass this along to the suggestions dept please. :)

    Thank GOD!

I have been working on the Tribble fleets (yes fleetS) that I manage daily, keeping things advancing. Being able to copy a Holodeck character then throw everything they have into a starbase, deleting and doing it again is what keeps them going on when I am nearly the only one working on things.

Anything that can't be shoved into the holdings, would normaly be sent to my normal Tribble characters in mail. Not being able to send things that way, I have not tried copying any characters. So Federation and KDF fleets' holdings have just about ground to a halt on Tribble.

I was hoping to have the holdings advanced further than this by now, on Tribble, in time for the next Tribble Weekend, when returning fleet members and new ones could right away get to grabbing the higher tier goodies. Oh well.

But just as long as this is fixed by Holodeck launch, I'll survive. :P

Chatting with other players on Tribble, there is something that I have been noticing.

I seem to be the only one who cannot send mail *at all* while on Tribble (but it works if I am logged in to Holodeck or Redshirt). It remains a fail when the send button is pressed. Nothing happens but the mail is cleared.

Some players say that their Tribble-sent mail seems fine but does not show up on Holodeck while others say that they have no issues at all. Could this be another WinXP issue, since I do use that OS?

As it is entirely possible that I suffered a game crash while having my Inbox open when all this began, is it possible then that my issues are not just caused by this mail overhaul being done by Cryptic now?

Is there some way to reboot my mail (*without* deleting mail already there) to find out? I have items, boffs and doffs stored in mail that would be a problem to slowly re-build back up.

But if this unable to send mail bug shows up on Holodeck, for me, it would be a disaster.

EDIT: Just tried to check some old mail with items in it...the items do not seem to be there anymore now. : (

EDIT 2: Checked again. Seems the mails with no longer having items attached are all mail before the upgrade mail system was added (end of March). Newer mail (the few that I managed to send before this mail block bug) still have items. When will I be able to use in-game mail again anyway? Still can't as of today's (04/16/13) patch.

As of yesterday's (04/17/13) patch, I still can't send mail.

It still acts as if I pressed the CLEAR button instead of SEND.

Since everyone seems to be not affected or affected in different ways, could this problem be OS specific, like the previous lock up on character select? Or something else?

It does not make sense to me that Cryptic 'working on a new backend of the mail system' would affect everyone differently, or not at all.

EDIT (04/18/13 patch): halfway working. I can send mail but any mail pre-03/27/13 or so with items has either lost its items or they are unaccessable to me.
