A build for an andorian escort, feedback appreciated!

For starters, I'm using the Kumari for each of these. Will modify them for a Charal for more survivability later if I choose to.

Engineering consoles are all for Neutronium for basics, for the added resistance.

Science consoles are going to be Field Generators for basics. Both Engineering and Science I will trade out based on my needs for a given STF or PvP sequence.

Shields will probably be a MACO pretty soon here. Nothing special, but it helps. I had thought of using combat engines for better turn, and a positron deflector dish (I think?) for higher shields.


Now onto weapons. At first I had planned on going for 5 Phaser DHC's in the best variant I can get my hands on. Now I've started thinking I may be better off with a dual beam bank in one slot and beam overload 2 for a decent upgrade to my burst. Alternatively, i could also do a quantum torpedo with High Yield, but that wouldn't get the bonus from my tac consoles, and I didn't really put any skill points into projectile weaponry, only energy weaponry... Oops...

Rear is obviously turrets.


Primary skills from officers are: Emergency Power to Shields, Hazard Emitters, Science team, tac team (2 instances of tac 1), Cannon Rapid Fire, Beam Overload, Cannon Scatter Volley, Attack Pattern Omega 1 (2 instances to keep it up constantly)


Scatter Volley, Rapid Fire, and Overload I've been moving around a fair amount... Sometimes I have 1 scatter volley 1 and 1 rapid fire 1, others I have 2 rapid fire 2's with no APO. So far I'm liking 1 rapid fire 1 and 1 rapid fire 3 with 1 scatter volley 1, but that's been on a pure cannon build.



Any suggestions on what I can do to improve this, where I'm going wrong, and what I'm doing right?

    Here are some tips.

    All human boffs to get your hull regen up to 120% while in combat. Will give you a constant HE 1 basicly. Dispite what people think all human boffs isnt op its very easy to over whelm that amount of healing but on a squishy ship it gives you a lil more staying power.

    Or add romulan Boffs with + Crit chance to max out your dmg a mix of both is helpful.

    Some things are dependant on what you have.

    Suggested hard to get items.

    Tacyonkenetic converter. + Turn rate + crith/d = Awesome for this ship.
    Borg Assimilated console. + crith/d + power = Win win.
    Romulan console. + crith + power + power insulaters = Also handy.

    Doffs.

    Cannon doffs.
    Projectile doffs.
    Beam doffs.
    Attack pattern doffs.
    Nurse crew recovery doff.
    Anything useful to your build.

    Shields - Any STF/aegis/Romulan/Reman/Elite fleet shield you like, usually covariant/resiliant.
    I go with MACO atm going to Elite fleet when we get upgraded. Conduit link for power is great.

    Deflector - Any of the above, i use omega for the tet glider 2pc.

    Engine - On escort try to stay with hyper impulse. Omega is great. + Elite fleet speed x3 turn 1 or turn x3 spd x1.

    For power i run full weapon, shields at 50 for normal regen, rest into engines for about 65 power. With power conduit im at 75 or so engine power + APO for speed turn increase.

    For common consoles.
    Obviously all same energy type consoles. Unless you wanna try a torp slinger which is fun.

    Highly recommend the biofunction console for sci will prevent crew death and keep hull regen higher.

    For eng i suggest the monotonium alloy for +35 kenetic as its what kills you in STFs the most.

    Weapons.

    Always have the kenetic cutting beam in the back. 1 Turret/array in the back. 3-4 DHC up front. Omega/Hyper/Quantum torpedo your choice.

    The kicker, the wing cannons might not seem as useful at first but paired with the WO console + a tractor beam one it can be impressive. A regular shot from a WC can crit for 20k+ dmg, a WO from it can crit over 180k. While it doesnt get + Acc you can grab someone with TB1 stop them and then they have 0% defense easy to hit and they will melt in 1 hit. Also the Tachyon burst console is good for same combo but the -25% shield resist debuff on the target lets the group nuke the shields fast.

    Your boffs should have 2 copies of APO 1 or 1 and 3 and 1-2 copies of Tac Team 1. Aside from that use CRF/BO/HYT as you like. A burst build can be devistating. CRF + WO + BO + HYT with tac buffs? Bam!

    For eng i use basic ET1 or EptS1/W1. For sci i use TB1, ST2, TSS2, HE1. PH1 always another good option.

    I personally use 4 DHC, 1 Turret, 1 KCB, and my Wing cannons. All adv fleet versions. It can really eat stuff up, can swap boffs whenever to throw in HYT or BO by switching torp and DBB in.

    I personally use the sci version for more sci slots so i can be more flexable. If your build the ship right it can be one tough customer. I honestly dont recommend 5 DHC great sustained dmg but no burst. WC/Torp/DBB for some burst will help a lot. And ya WC is bursty single 20k hit + console counts.

    still tuning the boff layout but I use TT, CRF, CS, TS, HYT for Tac while using for eng EptS and ET, along with HE and ST. I'm currently working on a guide for the Kumari to help everyone and have been searching the forums to make sure I get the most up-to-date info so people can make informed decisions. :D

    I have the 3-piece bundle and i am a tactical officer. I use the Khyzon escort which has a better console and BOFF layout than the other two in my opinion. This is my Setup

    Gameplay:

    I play as a tactician without torpedoes and mines and with cure Sci: HE / TSS + Eng: EPtoS/EPtoS/Aux2SIF on the use of large aux. batteries designed to push the aux level to 125 when in use. I rely on the combination of AP:B and AP:O, the rhythm alternates (O3:B1:O1:B1:) per minute, so I am almost >90% of time with an AP (TT, RF and EPtoS maxed) buffed. Playing with the Wing Cannon Overload console.
