Dan, are you happy with how the new Romulan news has been received by the playerbase, and in turn, did you expect the wrath you are now getting because of it?

I'm confused about the amount of content that the Romulan Faction will have that will be purely Romulan.

I been told that Romulans will have 10 missions that will help them level from 1 - level 20 but then they will have to get the rest of their leveling content from allying with the Federation or the KDF, is this correct?

If the above is correct has enough mission content been added to the KDF to make them appear to be on par with the Federation in terms of leveling content?

I got a small question - Any new starship interiors in the works?

Reason for this question is that its a little bit strange walking walking inside my ship seeing that those interiors are starbase interiors

(look up the "keep your enemies closer" mission on the klingon side and a few missions on the federation side.)

I'm mostly interested in gameplay related questions.

Is environmental suit slot coming in season 8?

Would I be able to disable zoning animation, to make zoning faster?

Any Doff system improvement?

Any Exchange improvement?

Any account bank improvement (taking commodities for assignments from here)?

What about option of buying lifetime subscription with ZENs (equivalent of price in $ or slightly more)?

I've got several questions.

Will we ever see updates to the options available in the character creator? Specifically things like Aliens not having makeup options, or aliens have Trill spots on the neck, but nowhere else. How soon until we see kit parts separated from the kits and put into the costume creator? And would we have access to all kits, or just the one specific to a character's career?

Could we see ship stats decoupled from ship hull? Often I (and probably every other player) likes how one ship handles, but want the look of another ship. I can see how it might obscure being able to tell what a ship can do if you paired an escort's stats to a Cruiser look , so probably restrict it to pairing stats of one ship type only to hulls of that ship type. And grant access only to stats and looks your account (or character on the basis of per character ships) has actually bought/received.

If and when we get a level cap increase, how will all the existing T5 ships that we've poured so much money into be handled? Will we be able to upgrade them to T6 ships? And if so, would that cost be minimal? (Because it would be really lame to have to spend more money/real money equivalent on ships we've already put money into).

There used to be a bug where when you beamed down, it used your ship costume instead of your character costume. This would be a great idea as an actual mission. There was a DS9 Episode, One Little Ship, that had a runabout shrink down because of a weird subspace anomaly, and had to retake the Defiant in miniature form. We could do the same in STO where you are playing as your ship, and have all your ship powers, but have to attack/evade giant sized characters and interact with the environment in new ways.

The Aegis set is basically invalidated due to Elite Fleet Shields, since EFS's have 2/3 of the Aegis 3 piece set ability all by themselves. What plans are there to upgrade the Aegis Set to make it unique and useful?

The Elite Fleet Space weapons the KDF have are really awesome (especially now that there are ACCx2 versions). The Fed Elite Fleet Space weapon seem kind of lame in comparison (especially considering how PvE isn't designed to take advantage of tanking but is most efficiently played with as much damage as you can muster; And in PvP, current passive and active healing levels make it One shot Kills or no kills at all). Would it ever be possible to get cross faction Elite Fleet Weapons (Phasers with a Shield Debuff and Disruptors with a Shield Heal)?

It has been stated on the Legacy of Romulus page that KDF will now start from Level 1 and go to 50. What content is being added to allow the KDF to be equal to the other factions?

Will there be unique Romulan Duty Officer stuff? Feds get Diplomacy, KDF gets Marauding, will Romulans get, say, Subterfuge? Or will they inherit the system of the faction they ally with?

1. Will the Romulans get unique Duty Officer assignments or will they only have access to assignments from their chosen ally? I'm sure it was no random decision to move the DOFF system to level 11 onward.

2. And on the topic of duty officers, since season 6, duty officers have felt mostly like a currency for Starbases, with the exception of some rare new active abilities from lockbox doffs, which were well received and sometimes even allowed for new and interesting builds.
But the "classic" duty officer gameplay feels neglected, just flying around the galaxy and doing missions. Are there any plans to make new duty officer missions, new chains and perhaps new ways to earn duty officers?

3. Will the new trait system only conern captains or will it change how traits are handled on BOFFs as well?

Will all of the bridge officer's be Romulan/Reman or will we have a good mix like the feds/klingons?

Will the romulan BoP be an available ship to the Klingons (ToS)?

Will the Klingon level 1-50 content be as good as the Kahless missions and the lvl 21/22 Klingon assasin mission (sorry, can't recall the name)?

Performance-wise (battle utility) were will the Romulan ships compare to the Klingon (play like various combinations of escorts) and Federations (core base ships - escorts feel like escorts, sci feel in-between, cruisers are tanks of the stars)?

Will the romulan ships be unlockable to other factions via the reputation system?

Will there be any changes to the reputation system (say an auto-fill button) vs the job like feel of current system?

I was a bit let down by Cryptic's plans to include an option for Romulans to ally with the Federation or the Klingons. Is it possible that Cryptic could include a third track for Rommie captains once enough content is developed around the New Romulus storyline to justify it? By a third track, I mean Romulans choosing to side with the Tal Shiar which would allow you to play a faction with no ties to the Fed or Romulans.

Are you still in discussions with the Perfect World web team about getting the subscribed threads functionality fixed?
If so, do they have an ETA on it yet as it has now been broken for a while!

1. Will a single Romulan fleet be split into two fleets, so instead of one larger Romulan fleet we will have two smaller Romulan Fleets? One Fed and One KDF?

2. Will the Romulans have their own unique Doff System, or will they inherit the doff system of their "ally"?

3. If I refuse to choose between sides (fed or Kdf) and thus am not able to progress in the story, will I still be able to PvP? STF? Doff? even in private Ques? by replaying the level 1-10 missions over and over?

4. In its currently planned implementation for allying with the federation/Kdf will that not in fact make it harder to separate the factions in the future by adding Romulan only fleet progression and assets? Would we not have to roll a completely new fleet and leave the old one? If we have to start a fleet of Romulans "within either other faction" and build it up then why would we leave that fleet for Romulan assets/fleets?

5. If the worry about current fleets being so heavily invested in is such a problem then why not give the Romulans a "Romulan Fleet Boost" to spurr on Romulan Fleets for a limited, tho decently long time?

6. If endgame PvP is such a worry that it has made you decided on forcing a Permanent Allegiance, why not allow Romulans to Que up with either Fed or Kdf, all of the time?

Question, will we ever get missions that explore the history between the Caitians and Ferasan. There are Doff missions that seem to hint to more between them. Along with that, will the Ferasan get a ship for the KDF side to play.

With more Fleets having players on both Factions and the fact that the new Romulan faction will also be joining one of the factions there will probably be people asking a lot of questions to fleet leaders.

Many fleets have created their own Fleet chat channels that can be used by players in either or both factions, not to mention lots of chat channels being created for tuffli, embassy, star base invites, STFs, Red Alerts and many more things in game is there a chance to increase the maximum number of chat channels from 20?

Are there also any plans to give the XMPP protocol any love so that fleet leaders can help aid their members even when they are not in game as currently the XMPP method of connecting is not very reliable.

How will the Reman warbird Scimitar class be put in, will it be a c-store ship, fleet ship, base ship, 3- pack cstore ship or the cring worthy lockbox ship or non playable, please say all except the lockbox and non playable. Becuase I'm really looking forward to flying the beast I understand if you have to take away perfect cloak, and have toned down version of the thalaron weapon for the player version.

Also will the romulan ships who end up fleet ships, be locked out for fed and kling?

Q1: In your previous STOked Radio interview, you mentioned account accolades. Where players wouldn't necessarily have to repeat the 300 STF accolade grind on multiple characters. Do you think that system could be implemented? And what other accolades you include?

Unique Accolades like the Anniversary Accolades?

Deep Space Encounter Accolades? (Both Original and Borg DSEs)

Q2: In the latest Ask Cryptic, he responded to my question about there are plans on helping small fleets with Fleet Starbases. Could he elaborate what the team are thinking of possible ideas?

Q3: I'm hoping Stahl can answer some curious questions I have regarding ship names.

In the current build on Tribble, the Romulan ships were renamed and the Romulan BoP was renamed the "T'Liss Light Warbird". In the Enterprise Novels the T'Liss was the name given to the Drone ship, why the change? And why is it called a Warbird now when it was always called the Bird of Prey?

The Hermes, long-term Star Trek fans often think of the 1-nacelled Scout ships created for Franz Joseph. Was the Patrol Escort Hermes given this name Omage or Overwrite?

The Vod'Leh was the class-name of the Negh'Var seen in TNG: All Good things, but is now the second skin to the Vo'Quv. Again Omage?

The Toron, in TNG its a shuttlepod and recently you change it into a Runabout. Is Toron like a Klingon brand name like Honda, where it went from a 2-Door to a 4-Door? And instead of revising the Toron, why not just make a new shuttlecraft?

Obviously the response from the Romulan community has been mixed in recent days, I myself have been on both sides of the fence on several topics. There have been several very good suggestions on how to implement Romulan fleets at this point with suggestions like allowing newly made fleets to have a Romulan only option with the ability to switch the fleet over to a pure Romulan fleet if you ever implement it, to allowing the fleets to change the color scheme of their fleet base to a more Romulan feel.

Are you guys giving any thought to some of these suggestions in order to allow Romulan players to feel more Romulan despite being allied with the UFP or KDF?

Since I have the sneaking suspicion that there will never be any "Romulan Faction" missions, I'll also add on, will there be assets added so that people can make a "Romulan Faction" mission, and will there be some sort of selector added so that people can search for these Romulan missions easily?

How integrated will this all be with the fleets merging? If I join a Fed fleet, will I be able to use all of my Fed side fleet unlocks from the C-Store? Will I be abel to buy Fed fleet ships? Will there be Romulan Fleet ships that only Romulans can buy, or will the non-Romulan fleet members be able to buy them as well? And will there be Romluan fleet weapons and modules? And same for KDF side Romulans as well.

Can I change sides? Basically, Can I join a KDF fleet, and then quit it and join a fed fleet? What does this do to my DOFFs and unlocks? Since I can see that nightmare, I'm guessing that I can't change sides.

Can I choose no sides? Basically, can I choose to not join any fleet and go to end game with the end game Romulan ships?

1. Does Cryptic plan to make the Romulan faction a FULLY independent faction, beyond level 10, someday soon?

2. Do you like the idea of a Tier-4 ship based on the TOS or TNG generation that people can Do-It-Yourself Kitbashes to create most of the different configurations like the New Orleans, Freedom and Niagra.

3. Is the Tau Dewa Tholian Red Alert going to be fixed?

4. Oh yeah, and has CBS said OK to the T5-Connie yet? :P
