Making you wait until you reach level 50 to do the reputation system is stupid. It should start the moment normal STF missions are unlocked so once you unlock Elite missions you will already have your reputation going and having some gear from it. I am tired of seeing some people in Elite missions with crappy gear.

The reputation system should be unlocked from level 1, in order to get new players interested in the entire system and allowing them to build toward it, instead of shoving everything onto them when they hit the level cap.

Level 1 would be done entirely through story episodes, with the Omega/Romulan/Tholian marks being available only from the first playthrough of each episode. Ideally, this would also coincide with a Tholian-based featured episode series. Again, this gets new players invested in the system, and lets them feel like they're already working toward something. Once they unlock level 1, they get access to mk X gear, so that they have something decent when they first get into STFs, instead of showing up to their first elite with rainbow beams. Speaking of elite STFs, those would only become available upon completing level 3. Levels 2 and 3 would give mk XI gear, so they're making some progress. The key is to get them invested in the system early, and to make progression gradual, instead of the current "YOU'RE AT LEVEL 50 SO GO GRIND ELITE STFS FOR THE NEXT THREE MONTHS OKAY"

This is exactly what i wanted to say, or at least just open the first two tiers of the omega reputation, as soon you are able to do the normal STFs

Yes - this is an issue - there is no reason that they don't let you start at lvl 44 when that is where you can start the Normal STF runs.

I don't know why they made it lvl 50.

It will become a big issue with the new Romulan Faction.

I don't have strong feelings one way or the other here, but just to play devil's advocate, the reputation system is designed to extend the playability of the game once a character has maxed out their level. You can argue that it shouldn't be the core of the post-game content that it's become, but the simple fact is that once you've filled out your Omega and Romulan rep, there's not a whole lot to do beyond PVP, building up your fleet, or running additional STFs/fleet actions with little reward. Dropping the starting level for rep would effectively reduce the amount of time the game could hold the average player's attention, which isn't good for the company, or (to a lesser extent) for the player.

Make rep projects available as soon as you can earn any marks in the game, hold back elite till level 50, we NEED a head start in that area, I have been playing since before S7 and I don't have my rep filled yet:eek: between grinding for fleet, grinding for items, grinding for rep, then grinding again for rep items, then grinding for fleet items...Its a futile battle to get anything in this game.

I have been in a lot of the harder Elite Missions (mostly ground) that fail because of multiple people without any reputation gear to help them out. Imagine the frustration people like that have as well as the ones who play with those people that cause fails. It is not good for anyone.

They could of made the reputation system start once normal STF missions start but only allow you to reach a high enough Tier to get the cheap MK X Omega reputation gear. You would still have to reach level 50 to advance more and unlock more stuff. The Romulan Reputation could still be required to reach level 50.

Also to hold peoples attention they need to have more total missions to do that is what keeps people playing more then anything. Doing the same small amount of missions over and over and over and over and over and over and over again is not good.

The way it is now just is not good. I hate having people who are new to level 50 in Elite missions causing fails and I am sure they hate the fails they have as well.

Yes but if they do that then they won't be able to call it "end game content" ! :P
(which we sorely lack as it is ...)

The way it is you have to log in every day for ... 2 months or something like that to unlock the damn thing .
That means that they have you hanging around @ End Game for 2 months ... .
Surely you'll want to buy something in that time ... .

Unlock the ability to purchase Tier 1 at level 10, Tier 2 at level 20, Tier 3 at level 30, Tier 4 at level 44, and Tier 5 at level 50.

Most of the gear you get from the reputation system is already Mark-levelled anyway, but some of it isn't and it would be nice to have options.

Then Cryptic would need to add low level Borg content. Doesn't make sense to lower the level requirement for reputation and there is no content at that level. Deferi Invasion seems like it would work from level 30 on so that wouldn't work.

My opinion is keep the current repuations as they are, but add new reputations like Crafting, PvP, Starfleet, and KDF reputations that would work at low levels. Borg and Tholian are endgame enemies and Romulan seems like they need a person in power like a Vice Admiral not a low ranking Starfleet Officer that has no real power. Might be possible to drop Romulan to level 40 and the first couple of tiers in Omega to 44.

Borg sector red alerts aren't level-bounded, are they?

I agree here too, should be open at 44 even if it doesn't unlock all tiers...lock down so you can only get tiers 1 and 2 like has been suggested.

I agree, since once you get to level 44 when you can join Omega force, you get NOTHING!!!
So a nice daily to start earning Omega marks would go a long way to helping new players
(or alts) get a leg up so to speak, other than normal STFs:) Humm, maybe 1 ground and 1 space daily to prepare for what's ahead?
