If you are a fan of "The Next Generation" (who isn't?), my new mission puts you on the bridge of the Enterprise-D somewhere during the sixth season of it's televised run.
Interact with the crew, while you assume the role of a junior officer during an important first contact mission.
Sure, it all takes place on the holodeck, but it is no way any less entertaining. So take 15-20 minutes and let me know what you thought of it.
It is called Nostalgia
Designed for solo play. Dialogue heavy (what did you expect?) Some ground combat required.
Fed side Levels 35 +
Thanks and enjoy!

It is very nicely made, and obviously a lot of work and heart went into this, so I am sorry to be the one to point out that this mission breaks the EULA in a major way by using the likenesses of almost all those actors.
Bolded and Colored in Red the relevant portions of the EULA.

Due to the EULA restrictions, I freely admit that there was a fair amount of trepidation involved as I crafted this story.
Nonetheless, I went ahead and did it anyway. My depictions & characterizations of the Next Generation crew are consistent with the series and I in no way compromised the integrity or quality of any of these characters by utilizing them in my story. Simply put, I took no artistic license. My approach was to be as faithful and accurate with the tools I had to work with and my knowledge of the series itself.
If you played the mission, you'd know that I actually included the need for "approval from Starfleet Command" within the framework of the plot. Holo depictions of historical figures and all.
In any event, whatever happens, I enjoyed making this immensely and I urge anyone who is a fan of the TNG series to try it while you still can... :-)
Loved it, hope the possible EULA issue doesn't cause cryptic to kill it.
Hey. Thanks a bunch.
I am hoping for the same, since I only have 1000 more ideas that would utilize a similar
format; i.e. crews from various ST incarnations.
I really, really, have to take exception with the EULA if it in fact does not allow folks (and myself) to use likenesses of already established characters from all the series and movies etc.
I mean I could understand if I say, decided to use a likeness of Patrick Stewart that wasn't flattering or perhaps if I chose to use his likeness as a villain with a different name, etc. But that is not the case here.
The way I used these characters was totally in step with how they were represented as actors within the canon of Trek.
Not only that, but this rule has been consistently broken -You may not use New Game Materials to depict a likeness of any real person (historical or present day). I seem to remember a certain Foundry spotlight mission that used the name and likeness of Nicolai Copernicus throughout the storyline...really. (and I can cite other examples of this) So obviously there are exceptions and grey areas here!
In any event, I paid my money, now I takes my chances. :-P

Unfortunately, you can't take exception to an End User License Agreement. It basically on your end states "if I use this, I agree to follow these rules", regardless of how much money is paid.
I think the reason why we're not allowed to depict the likenesses of characters from the ST shows and movies is because we don't have the express permission from CBS, nor do we have the permission of the actors in question, who, by the way, are usually paid for using their likenesses as if they were property.
I wish we could use them too. But if Cryptic is going to be thrown into a legality issue, I'd rather not be the cause of it.

Like I said, it's a very nice mission. Don't get me wrong.
You just need to understand WHY the EULA lays things out the way it does.
It has nothing to do with the manner in which the character is portrayed.
Nothing at all.
It's an IMAGE LIKENESS that the actor involved OWNs.
$$ Money $$ has to change hands for things to be used.
It's as simple as that.
Denise Crosby was paid for more than just her voice work, but also her image.
The part of the EULA I have already quoted for you is in place so that Foundry Authors do not use the images and depictions of real people that are owned by the actor's involved.
Why ? BECAUSE IT OPENS THEM UP FOR A LAWSUIT to use an actors image in the game without the right people getting paid for it.
So, go ahead.
Keep your mission up
But understand, by doing so, you potentially open Cryptic up to lawsuits from any of the actors whose likenesses you used.
Here is hoping that doesn't happen.
But you did use a whole lot of actor's and characters depictions in the mission.
In direct violation of the EULA. (Which you signed)
When informed of this fact, your reply is "Who cares, I'm gonna keep it up anyway. I take exception to the EULA."
Sorry if my response is WTF ???
Now the likelihood of anything actually happening is very small, that's true, but I urge you to take this mission down and realize that it is not about story or character , but actual money and legalities.
keep the mission, change the details as needed. it may seem to be a major pain in the backside, but the EULA is the EULA. If you are creative in how you change things up you can get your point across to people playing it.
The only way around it would be to make the characters look absolutely nothing like the actors who portrayed them. You cannot be too loose on this just look at action figures often they don't look all that much like the actor yet the actor gets paid for his/her likeness.
A TIME TO SEARCH: ENTER MY FOUNDRY MISSION at the RISA SYSTEM Parallels: my second mission for Fed aligned Romulans.
I choose ships in canon that the computer seems to not mind me using for my own crew.
My current ship is the Galaxy Class: USS Yamato (Enterprise D's sister) I have season 1
unis on my crew and since its Yamato in the future not Enterprise it fits and canon who
who says ill never command the Yamato in the 25th century
Same goes for my Excelsior, USS Lakota (so the Quantum torps is plausible hehe) Again
with my own crew its original yet canon. Thats from DS9.
In addtion i use other canon names too like for example:
USS Farragut (ST Generations) Nebula Class
USS Seatek (ST DS9 Sacrifice of Angels) Miranda Class when i was a LT
USS Excalibur (Capt Calhouns ship) when the ENTC became avalible
USS Constellation Soverign class, they built the Enterprise why not carry the name of Matt Deckers old ride since it looks like a Connie already)
My point being I always wanted to be in TNG yes but i wanted to have that canon ship next to actors, to pilot the Yamato, Farragut and so on. Those were great ships and the Farragut looked spectacular in Generations, it was a dream as a kid to on my own ship not be a lower officer to the main characters i wanted to be an equal. Its our own story for a reason but i like a little canon in there too, so your apart of the show but not the crew.
Okay i may have made a Soong android for my for my crew but i named him 2B for a reason, i thought this would be the last one in the brother line something after Lore since B4 is running around i figured they will always be two like the Sith....the rule of two. Lore and Data then B2 and Data and now ressurected Data and my guy 2B.

Patrick Stewart very likely received monies that were earned from the sales of this toy.
Most likely for image and likeness rights.
Just putting that out there.
