Galor & Jem'hadar Bug and other unlocks being account wide?

nova2284nova2284 Member Posts: 0 Arc User
When Will Galors & Jem'hadar Attackships and other unlocks being account wide?

or Why Can't Galors & Jem'hadar Attackships and other unlocks being account wide?

Please state the nature of the when we could see the Galor & Jem'hadar Attackships and other unlocks being account wide?

With all new things that where added why should I care about Legacy of Romulus or Why should we care about?

When fail you to adressed treads that have large numbers of post treads do just not care or want address them?

Is it if we stop posting do the issues go away like magic?

I've read countless post about bugs, issues, fix, and, Others things make the game more playable... Yet there never fixed why is that?

I ask myself all the time why are issues never addressed why is it that we can get new ships or new content yet we have bugs glitchs in the game?

I also ask myself why do the devs never seem to want take the simple fixs people come up with in the Forums to make changes to the game?

Why is it that Answers Devs only choose esay questions?

Why should start or keep play sto when changes never come current game?

Why should Buy we Zen buy ship when a number of ships for Lobi and other stores are gimp?

Why Don't you care?

Hi all. My name is Robuille and I own a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship. Why am I telling you this you might be wondering? Because I also own the new Jem'Hadar Dreadnaught Carrier now. You might be saying to yourself..., well..., so what? See the thing is, I own both of those ships but on two different characters. Still, I own both ships so I should be able to buy Jem'Hadar Attack Ship hangars for my Jem'Hadar Dreadnaught Carrier, right?

    WRONG!!!

Now let me get this straight..., both ships are extremely different from each other so each requires an entirely different skill tree spec to optimize its performance. So even if I were to own both ships on one character, any time I wanted to switch ships I would have to pay for a new respec token?!? And seriously, if one of my characters has the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship, WHY WOULD I WANT TO FLY ANOTHER SHIP AND ESPECIALLY ONE SO DIFFERENT?!?!?

So to get the special Jem'Hadar Attack Ship hangar bay unlock under the current terms of the promotion, I'd either have to buy one of JUST 6 Attack Ships that are left on the exchange for OVER 400 MILLION EC on the one character I just unlocked the Dreadnaught..., or I could take the one character that I don't want flying ANYTHING BUT my Jem'Hadar Attack Ship, buy him the Dreadnaught and respec him anytime I want to fly the Dreadnaught on the off and TOTALLY ABSURD chance that I get tired of flying my bug.

WHAT IS THAT HANGAR BAY UNLOCK EVEN IN THE STORE FOR?!?!?!?

Is this Cryptic's way of unveiling their new sadistic sense of humor?

Now that we know how upset I am, and I'm sure the other Jem'Hadar Attack Ship owners feel the same way, I offer a solution. If a character on an account owns the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship, the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship Hangar Bay should be unlocked for the entire account and usable only on the Jem'Hadar Dreadnaught Carrier. Reasonable solution? I think so.

I don't think this was an intentional attempt to TRIBBLE us all off. I think it was an oversight and a good idea that never made it to the critical thinking stage of development. You guys just shipped it out without giving any thought to how the "unlock" policy might affect the player. Now the players are screwed and the players would like to know if you plan on fixing it?

I don't see how Dreadcarrier should need you own another ship doesn't makes any point ... to get a fighter bay?

This is a escort why would you place that ship on a character that flying carriers your spec 1st of all you know...

I don't get reason other then they Just want suck ever dollar out someone's wallet?

really why have a ship that you need have a fighter bay to make it useful... Jem'hadar Lockboxs are trash... these Dreadcarrier is most gimp ship ever released next to Fed Dread. Look what is the point of having the ship if you need own another ship just to make it work?

    Hanger - Adavanced Jem'Hadar Fighters
    *Polaron Pulse Cannon
    *Polaron Dual Cannon
    *Directed Energy ModulationII

Hanger - Adavanced Jem'Hadar Attack Ships

    *Quantum Torpedoes
    *Cannon Rapid Fire:II
    *Antiproton Sweep

Think of this also they cause there own demand for a Attackship. Setting it up this way which is maybe worst thing ever to happen to this game because you know they already got plans to do it again. I almost want tell the people who get next locks boxes haha?!? Whats the next carrier scam Cryptic...Galor to get fighters bay for a Keldon Carrier?

There's a lot of pressure building in this Thread.

Whether your for or Against or indifferent with the Gating of the Hanger Attack Bugs I think that the one thing we can all agree on is that something like this type of Gating has never happend before in STO.

To date no other Carrier or any other vessel type for that matter has had an item that can only be used with it Exclusively locked away behind needing to own a completely different vessle and that's just to get the right to buy the item

This is just a huge break for what we've come to expect with Carriers in STO and many will never stop stating how fundamentally wrong this move by Cryptic is and I will 100% agree with them.

When this was 1st mentioned by Cryptic many of us were confused by the post ad we started asking Cryptic to explain what was going on with the Dreadnought and the Lock Box attack ship and we never got any responce (no surprise there).

We took to the forums to ask Cryptic to explain to us why this was being done with the Dreadnought Carrier and after 2 months we still have not gotten one DEV to comment on this move and why it made sense to Cryptic to do it.

There's a lot of anger over this issue and Cryptics refusal to at the very least acknowledge that many of us strongly feel that owners that just wanted Dreadnought Carrier were being locked out of an option that could only be used with the Ship that we already owned.

Cryptics silence on this issue continues to speak volumes and sadly it seems that none of the DEV's who all seem to claim that they listen to us are and are building a better game for us can't give players like myself and many others a responce to our questions about why such an unprecedented move like this was done with the Dreadnought Carrier.

It's like Cryptic is saying the Dreadnought is just not has special of a vessel has the Attack Ship and players the own the Attack Ship deserve more than the players the own all of the other ships in the game and that is a really bad message to be sending.

I have no choice but to accept this move by Cryptic because I love playing STO and my only option would be to leave this MMO and I doubt that I'd could do that.

I have to sit back and accept that fact that no matter how constructive we try to be over this issue, no matter how strongly we try to ask for a reason that it was done, no matter how we try to make Cryptic see that this was not a fair move for many Science and Engineering players that have no use for Escorts but can really do well in Carriers, that Cryptic just did not care enough to hear us.

I can't make myself matter to Cryptic and I can't change anything that they do when it comes to STO but I can make sure that Cryptic / PWE never sees one cent of my hard earned money every again.

We asked Cryptic to hear us over this issue and we got nothing from them and now I'll give them nothing has well.

The funniest thing is that many of us would have paid for the Hanger Bugs if they were put in the C-Store or the Lobi Store, we might of raged over it but we all know that we would have shelled out for them but Cryptic had to go and tie in a key item for our Carrier to a lock box type system and try to milk us all for every last cent that they could get.

I'd love to hear what Chris the former host of Stoked would have to say about this since almost every other podcast I reached out to more or less just told me to deal with it and accept it has Cryptic being Cryptic.

I love STO but the people who make STO don't give a damn about me.

I own the Dreadnought Carrier and just recently acquired an Attack Ship. I think it is stupid that I have to even think about opening my Attack ship on a character that I have no intention of using it on, just so I can get some hangar pets.

As for Cryptic not caring about us, that is partially true. I am wondering whose idea this was? Was Dan Stahl in on this or was the decision made by someone else? It seems like to anyone that actually plays the game knows that this was a bad idea. Having a very rare escort on the same character in which you have a very rare carrier seems stupid. If the person who made this suggestion plays the game, I am curious to know why they though this was a good idea? Do they not realize how people who do not have GM accounts play the game?

Selling the Attack ship pets for Lobi would have been a really good idea on their part. Hell, making it something you had to buy with Zen would work as well. But to make it from a ship that is super-rare to get (you can tell by the price on the exchange), is a poor decision. The Kar'Fi Battle Carrier or any other carrier does not have such a silly requirement, why does the Dreadnought Carrier?

    :(

100 or 200 Lobi each Attackship both are reasonable at least there they still make there money and players get use there ship fully great ideas here i like this one the most of all

Now I know you guys who may paid for one off the exchange or got lucky opening packs the reward itself is getting your hands on the ship you see its same feeling anyone who picks up any lock box ship or Lobi store but making another ship needed for buying a fighter bay is lame reason to buy a bug. now that being said why dose cryptic do this give the Attackship a Polaron Quad Cannons [Dmg] x4 make useable on other Jem'hadar ships only or useable on any ship place dual cannons add something will give the players more weapons builds I'm pretty sure bug player would like to have something like that and would reject idea You said wanted to give those owners Attackship something its the idea of Quad Cannon would make me more likely buy a ship.

This would be a welcome Bluepost^^^

Why would you want the Galor to be account wide? The ship sucks.

I actually discharged mine to make room for my fleet assault cruiser.

As for the JHAS, just another old escort. There are few more advanced and powerful escorts ingame now anyways, sorry if you gambled your lifesavings away for it. Unless you got it for the ability to own the hangar, then its ok.

Maybe a good thing to add to the Zen store would be a ship pack up token. Costs 250-500 Zen and you can pack up your Galor, D'Kora, JHAS or whatever lockbox ship it is into an account bound container for transferring between toons.

Means that you can try different ships out on different characters when you get tired of a certain build. The cost to pack up will also discourage people from just buying 1 ship and constantly switching it between characters. It shouldn't really discourage people from getting multiple copies of good ships either.

What I would like to see them do, is make it that fighter bays can be issue to players who own the Attackships on the account not the toon that would be take use of the hanger or Galor beam arrays form the ship but you must own the ship on account not on toon that want to buy the weapons on... so any of your ships or toon couldn't pick them up...

simply if you own it on the account you use weapons or bays form the dil store i don't know about you but if they would do more of that with lock box ships I wouldn't have issue with buying the ships or keys to unlock boxes... just saying maybe it would be wiser too add weapons to ships over consoles

I can see your point but the Jem'Hadar dreadnought is an exceptional ship I have often found that when I'm using 5 beam arrays(yes that's right beam arrays) I have been able to get 1st place in fleet actions such as the gorn minefield and star base 24 even when escorts were present and I also use the advanced Jem'Hadar fighters not the JHAS pet which I would love to have but the fighters. And I was able to keep enough survivability to where I can sufficiently tank for extended periods of time in elite stfs.

They should all be account wide, anything you purchase should be applied to every character slot regardless.

but GREED out weighs passion for a "fun" game that people will enjoy without having to get a second job to play.

Why do I get the feeling that I need waders and an umbrella if I'm to spend a lot of time in this thread?

Why should Cryptic make lock box unlocks, which have always been bound to the character, account wide just to suit you?

Seems to me somewhat churlish to demand that the developers change a key aspect of the game to suit your inability to play it.

I think the OP is missing the reason for lock boxes allowing Cryptic to make money and put playable ships into the game without CBS calling foul and wanting them removed. However, I do think that considering how rare the ships are meant to be for most people there could be an allowance to transfer a ship between toons on an account for a moderate cost of Zen. The way I described above would generate extra revenue and make little to no difference on master key sales.

An example. Currently I have a recluse and orb weaver on an engineer, I was going to make it my regular engineer but have decided I hate the character and wish to delete it, it would be nice if for a fee I could transfer those two lock box ships to another character.

I'm not holding my breathe though.

It's not a key aspect of the game, no idea what logic or reason you come up with to say that.

The only thing it governs is cash flow, which has nothing to do with the game, just the running of.

most people don't have $500 to spend on a CHANCE at getting something to further enjoy the game, and when you spend money on something you normally expect to be able to use it but with all the loopholes and such with digital property it's impossible for the customer to have any say in it.

look at it this way, most people would buy the ship multiple times if it was bound to one character IF it was a guarantee.

instead of cryptic getting $10-20 from an average player per new lockbox, they could get 3-10x the amount from people buying something they want to use and can use without the whole chance system.

I hope posting here will finally draw the attention of the devs to make fixes and changes a broken game. Sometimes I think the devs take working on Star Trek for granted and just seem to ignore us. So at times I really don't regret criticism. Dose anyone else feel the same here?

How hard is to make the changes we ask for or fixing bugs?

That Is what really should have been in the 1st place.... Wheres the incentive to buy keys or the ships there is none its all place on getting a Attackship now pretty pointless. The Attackship and DreadCarrier are nothing alike in builds or specs, is there any other reason to make the ship this way other then Double Dipping wallets on player who got Dreadcarrier? I would have to say No! so why it got be that way?

Wheres the incentive to buy keys or the ships? there is none because there pretty much saying no you much buy or unlock a 2nd ship to take use of Galor Arrays or Attackship Fighter bay? Why didn't they just add a Quad Cannon to the Attackship its been 30 years you think the Jam'Hadar would have upgraded?

Probably never. CBS approves these oddball ships in part on the condition of scarcity. The current arrangement makes them much more scarce than if they were account unlocks.

    I agree with the OP.

All these locked boxed ships need to be account wide. We are spending a gazillion amount of either $ or EC on it. Do they actually want us to spend that much for each single character? This is criminal....just doesnt make sense and no good business practice.

At least give us some options to buy upgrades/other account wide ships through LOBI or DIL store

how about making the unlocks or weapons free to buy off dil store to accounts who own the ships? wouldn't that you make people want buy the ships more... lobi box and dil store need flush out make some of unlocks... like oh i don't the bug fighter bays and the
spiral wave disruptor my characters mean more people want spend more time gearing them spending more money gearing wouldn't this be a win win for the company...

I don't think myself that lock boxes or lobi ships need be unlocked to account wide like zen ships? But do think making useable unlocks for have ship on account form the Lockbox ships would be a great way for you company to make cash and for us to get other things besides fleet weapons to gear ships... I may start more clear post in a few days about what think they need to address here in STO. :o
