Looked like the TOS BoP fired a standard plasma torpedo. The "black hole" effect could be a replacement for the listing the ships do now.

Entirely plausible. Also plausible (given the current lack of information) that it's not just a regular plasma torpedo. Either way, it's a nice vfx touch.
In theory, a specially designed D'Deridex variant (without all the empty space) would make a very reasonable carrier in my mind. Size-wise they're already roughly on par (or a bit larger) with Galaxy-class ships in terms of volume. Dedicate a large chunk of that to hangar space and viola, instant fleet carrier.
Technically the Scimitar is a Reman ship, not Romulan.
And as for which ship could potentially be a Carrier, you're saying the D'deridex (Warbird) wouldn't be able to function in that capacity? Certainly large enough for quite a few Romulan fighter craft.

Here's the thing, despite having a rather large footprint, a "stock" D'Deridex is probably about 35-50% (depending on one's perspective) empty space. There just isn't a piece of the hull that's large enough to be the massive dedicated space that a fighter squadron would need.
Im content finally getting a romulan faction im not gonna quibble over all the specifics or complain for what it doesnt have.
Lets just be glad we are getting the third faction

The only thing I want to know is how extensive Romulan customization will be. I want to have the option of playing a smooth-headed Romulan, like those seen in ToS or the ones with the heavier brow seen in Mine Enemy. There are no words to describe how much I hate the "V" head that modern Romulans have.

They were indeed. But from the look of the teaser site, we'll get at least a unique new uniform. Some sort of open lapel outfit. But yes, Nemesis-era uniform costume pack, please. My Zen points are ready.
1.) Where will be the ROM factions home-base/ planet be situated?
2.) How will the ROM factions native weapon choice i.e. plasma be different to the many reputation + store variants already to be unique?
3.) Will the ROM also be receiving a 5-TAC console capable escort?
4.) Will there be a new STF in the new future against this new alien race hell-bend on destroying the Alpha Quadrant as with the Borg?
5.) Will the ROM Dailies like Minefield, SB24 etc feature this alien race?
6.) Does this alien race pave the way for the introduction of Quadrupeds in the game as playable further on?
7.) What new skills are there going to be I wonder! And how confusing will the new Icons be at first! LOL its going to be like playing a new game I tell youz!
8.) Will I look good in Green?
9.) How do I fit my D'Deridex in my garage?
