Elijah's back this week and so your groovy threesome are James, Elijah and Tony as we embark on this fun-filled, action-packed show (your ticket covers the cost of the whole seat,
BUT YOU'LL ONLY NEED THE EDGE!!!). In this week's Trek It Out we discuss
Taylor Swift (hey, don't tune out, give it a shot!), and why
Brazil is the luckiest country in the world(and possibly why Kirk is the luckiest captain ever). In STO News we cover, and then Pug01 drops by to teach us all about
keybinds in Fieldnotes. Finally, we open up hailing frequencies and listen to your incoming messages.
Remember, Captains, all the submissions we receive for our show will be entered into this month?s random drawing for 1,000 ZEN -- this includes comments on our website and emailed segment topics!
Enjoy!

Or is the show about another reason Brazil is lucky?

I am going to have to correct you on what a macro is. First the definition "...a macro is a saved sequence of commands or keyboard strokes that can be stored and then recalled with a single command or keyboard stroke." Notice that the word "timings" is not in that definition. No matter how you sugar coat it, or how naive you think the devs are, so called "complex keybinds" are macros in it's simplest form. I had to laugh when I heard, "it's not a macro because it's not timing those powers," as if to ensure that the devs are convinced that it's not a macro.

Interesting news about the 2013 Trek Movie. Especially with Kirk, analogy much JJ?
Keep in mind that you will be required to press the key multiple times for all the "sequence of commands" to execute. Pressing it once will not do so.

Depending on how you set up your binds, if you use the proper commands you can set off two things with one button press.
It's a macro, the poster is right, but why that matters is beyond me. If you don't use keybinds in this game especially in PvP then don't bother showing up.
At the same time keybinding is an art just having everything assigned to the space is as bad as having no keybinds at all.
For those of us that don't use cookie cutter guides, we all have different systems I find cookie cutter guides to be poor for STO keybinds because keybinds need to reflect the ship, boffs and playstyle. I have several different binds for different ships / characters.

It only matters in that Cryptic's stance on macros was mentioned in the podcast, so instead of calling a rose a rose, a nifty little term was used, and reminders that "this isn't a macro" was mentioned a couple of times. Don't get me wrong, I use the Spacebar macro especially during STF's. I've seen my hull literally hit "0" and that macro saved my butt.
