Lock Box Question

Hi all,

I have a level 27 captain, and I've managed to lay my hands on a Master Key and a Dominion Lock Box. Now, obviously, I want to open it to find that I've got one of the super mega rare prizes, such as a Jem Hadar Heavy Escort Carrier (unlikely!).

My only concern is that as I'm not the required level to actually use one (Level 40?), does this mean that the option of receiving one is not open to me, so no matter how many Lock Boxes I open, I'll never receive one until I'm of a hi enough level to pilot one? Or can I receive one no matter my level, and not use it until I'm high enough?

    if i'm right you have the chance to get one, but you won't be able to open and use it until you're level 40. so feel free to join the gamble :D.
    btw: don't expect one from a box. it's possible to open hundreds of boxes without a grand-prize. also it's possible to get more than one out of a few boxes, but as said: don't expect a single one.
    safest way to obtain any of those ships is via ec-exchange for many millions (from about 60m+), boxes are for lobi if you ask me ;).

    If you win one, it will be in a box in your inventory that you cannot open until you reach the required rank.

    On the upside you can sell it off or send it to an alt or a friend you really really like.

    Yeah, I'm not expecting to win one, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't decreasing the odds of getting one from almost nothing, to no chance whatsoever!

    My alt obtained one at level 30ish. Sent it to my account bank and using it as a prize for a fleet wide week long event. I don't need the ec and don't want it myself.

    you shouldnt worry.
    play 1 mirror event and u are lvl 35, play 1 more and u are close to 43, play 1 more day and u are lvl 50....
