Hi guys

I am a Tactical rank 31 captain? (I haven`t played in a while as I have had a new PC and takes forever to patch!!)

I have choosen to command a Intrepid class LRSV. My leading tac has Torpedo spread (lvl2?) and phaser overload (lvl1). Engineer has extend shields lvl 2. Science (no clue).

I haven`t played in a long time so please excuse me if later on I discover my officer abilities are wrong!!!!

I`d appreciate some help in optimium kit loadouts without changing my Tactical abilities, I don`t mind changing items on my ship as long as I get the full names so I can find them.

Thanks Trekkers!

    The best loadout is thus:

    1. Go to shipyard
    2. Select "Advanced Heavy Cruiser (Excelsior)"
    3. Have fun!

For sci abilities you want Hazard Emitters and Transfer Shield Strength. Engineering should have a Shield Power (forget the actual name) and of course, if possible Engineering Team I or II. These alone are staple for survivability in general. Tac Abilities look fine to me. You may want to throw in Fire At Will (helps with spam) and or a few plays like Omega or Beta. I know Delta is fine too if you can load a Doff (purple) that increases this. otherwise, stick to the first one.

I am not familiar with the Intrepid's sci.eng and tac consoles but a general rule of thumb is to load tac up with energy enhancing relays (i.e. Phaser relay or Antiproton mag regulators). Than you can load Sci with whatever consoles you like, including the Borg Assimilated Module, Tach (lobi Store Purchase) console and Rom ZPE console. If you have room throw in something else like a field generator or if you have one, subspace jumper. The Eng consoles can be used for hull strength consoles like Neutronium, etc... a combo can be done between the Eng and Sci.

Devices, Subspace shield modulator and if you can afford it, red matter capacitor. Otehrwise, fill up with what you like (i.e. batteries, weapon platforms, etc...).

Finally, Engine, Deflector and sheilds can be whatever you can afford I guess. I personally use the Borg Set XIII (but disable visuals) as it increases hull significantly! Otherwise, if your doing just PVE try to get the Remen shields and or whatever suits your fancy. As you level up you will have access to better equipment.

The game has changed a lot in just the last eight months alone, (i.e. rep system) so just take things slowly and get to know how everything works. More changes to come in May too! So be weary of waiting too long for certain goodies (i.e. You cannot get Borg Assimilated Module via mission anymore, only through rep system!).

Hope this helps. Have fun! :)

    thanks badname834854 and bugspatteredjack!

I think I`ll have to play around with it and see what fits. I may also consult my fleet (W.A.S.I.C) for advice as they have helped me since I started playing STO.

If you want to play with me or want to set a private game, I`ll be more than happy to. Below is my game handle: James@stargazer918

I don`t play much cause I had a new computer for christmas that can run ARMA 2, my old one had all the data and patch info on and I didn`t transfer it over, as a result it takes me forever to patch the game up to scratch. Email me your full display names in game or you can CORE connect me or post below and I`ll take a note.

    Thanks lads!

P.S. You could FORUM private message me and I`ll get them.

The Retrofit Intrepid has 4 science consoles, 3 engineering consoles and 2 tactical consoles.

    So I'd place:

    Eng: X3 Neutronimum
Sci: Tach, Assim Module, ZPE, and console of OP's choice.
Tac: X2 Weapon enahcer (i.e. Mag Regulartor, etc...)

@ stargazer - Sure, anytime you want to meet up and do missions together, etc... I'd be happy to join you. My in game handle is busgpatteredjacket@bugspatteredjack (to be changed after boot camp to something short I think!).

I've never actually seen an Intrepid in action in game before so do pm me!

Load the front with 3x cannons and a torp, 3 turrets in the rear/2 turrets and a torp.

For tac abilities - cannon scatter volley 1 and torp spread 1.

Your DPS will be higher than beams.

I have justed bolted on two fore plasma cannons and a chroniton torpedo and the rear a plasma launcher and two plasma turrets. I have used plasma and chroniton projectile launchers. And high spec rare to very rare cannons and turrets.

    It a very tankish build!

    hi Bugs

Yeh thats fine, I`ll wait for ya to play. I`m trying to limit how much I go on as I have to do otherthings beside this. I have also unlocked a new ship so prehaps we can test out loadouts and stuff like that.

    Catch you in-game!!
