When Mine Trap starts please flash in yellow/blue/red/green etc text in the middle of screen the zone a team belong to "Your Zone is X - Defend it"
Example: Your Zone is Blue - Defend it.
People are not reading what they should do in the mission brief, even this will stop people wandering to another zone and leaving one or two members with zone on their own.
Also on Death a zone spawn would be ideal but I'd settle for the text flashing up again on death to remind new comers what zone they should return to.
+1 indeed. I can't count the amount of times it's been me and 1 other cat trying to defend a zone and the rest of the team is spread out all over the map.

+1 but i doupt this will help, most people in this game say the beggining missions are hard (tut mission) so how u expect them to do this mine trap mission or anyother mission, sometimes i wonder how people got to va, dumb luck i guss
I was using my KDF character one day to do mine trap and when I beamed in one of my fellow team mates who was a fed character thought that he was supposed to kill me. He kept trying to shoot me even while the salt creatures atttacked. Guy was an idiot. It took him awhile to figure out what to do.

Gahaha this personifies the federation on This game someone in Kerrat actually asked me how I kept going invisible the other day
----=====This is my opinion you don't have to listen and no one else has to read them these "OPINIONS" are based on my exploits and my learning other people will have their opinions and that's fine just don't knock my way of doing things thanks=====----
Yeah, this morning was horrible with the afk leechers...what a waste of everyones time...
I agree. Just came out of a mine trap now and every team had 2 afk leechers.
You know, it makes you really wonder what inept person is in charge of the design of these levels. This is absurd and there is no excuse for it. MMO's have been dealing with AFK farmers since 1990 and there are established do's and do not's in game design for this.
DO NOT award ANYTHING to players that don't contribute. Easy concept..yet it seems it is far beyond cryptic designer understanding. What pi?ata did they get their degree in again?
How HARD is it really.. to simply have the game award 0 rewards to a player that deals no damage and that is not in the end zone when the map ends?
How hard is it to put a check every 1/4th of the map timer to see if the player has done more damage than in the previous check and if he fails to have added to his damage 50% of the checks it automatically zeros out the rewards?
Yeah the afkers in this mission are getting worse and worse. There is at least one per team usually, sometimes more. Add in one or two persons in a team who have no clue what the heck they are supposed to do and refuse to read team chat and many zones are left with only two players actually doing their job.
Mine Trap is sadly just too complex for the average STO player. If it's not a straight path ahead with enemies left and right so they can mash their head on the space key they crumble under the complexity. Same problem with Incursion really. It is really sad and pathetic how dumb the average player is.
What boggles me is that for minimal effort, the AFkers could get vastly more marks that they desire. It just doesn't make sense; it's just so self-defeating.
I have intentionally failed optionals/borked missions due to AFKers. Just the other day, I left ISE because of one. I didn't want to, but I refuse to support them. The rest of the team was cruisers, so i'm sure the reset were gonna leave if it was only 3 people active.
Something needs to be done about them; they are only *slightly* above EBAY scammers, child molesters and the people that talk too much in movie theaters.
At least Mine Trap doesn't penalize you for leaving early. But the downside is that it needs at least 15 people to trigger, more at peak hours.
