Kumari Escort Build

cain084cain084 Member Posts: 8 Arc User
I just bought the Kumari Escort bundle, and was hoping to plan out a build in advance. I'm not 100% sure of whether or not I should use the specified science consoles (or put 2 of the kumari consoles into science and use engineering consoles).

Fore Weapons:
1) Advanced Fleet Andorian Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons Mk XII [Dmg]x2 [Acc]x2
2) Advanced Fleet Andorian Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons Mk XII [Dmg]x2 [Acc]x2
3) Advanced Fleet Andorian Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons Mk XII [Dmg]x2 [Acc]x2
4) Advanced Fleet Andorian Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons Mk XII [Dmg]x2 [Acc]x2
5) Kumari Wing Phaser Cannons [Dmg] x4

Aft Weapons:
1) Advanced Fleet Andorian Phaser Turret Mk XII [Dmg]x2 [Acc]x2
2) Advanced Fleet Andorian Phaser Turret Mk XII [Dmg]x2 [Acc]x2

Deflector Array:
1) Assimilated Deflector Array Mk XII

Impulse Engines:
1) Assimilated Sub-Transwarp Engines Mk XII

Shield Array:
1) Elite Fleet Adaptive Resilient Shield Array Mk XII [Adapt][Reg][Cap]x2

Device(s):
1) Deuterium Surplus (5)
2) Subspace Field Modulator

Science Consoles:
1) Assimilated Module
2) Zero-Point Energy Conduit

Engineering Consoles:
1) Phaser Dispersal Array
2) Wing Cannon Platforms
3) Tachyon Induction Relay

Tactical Consoles:
1) Phaser Relay Mk XII
2) Phaser Relay Mk XII
3) Phaser Relay Mk XII
4) Phaser Relay Mk XII
5) Phaser Relay Mk XII

Any feedback would be much appreciated :)
Thanks

I would get rid of that Emitter Array, move one andorian console to science and get a neutronium.

The quads suck TRIBBLE for pvp I laugh at people using them against speed tanking

Your items are massively off the mark both those are useless get the subspace modulator(could be wrong name) it's a life saver and get engine batteries they will do twice the job of either of those

Instead of the emitter array you want a field generator -threat is not going to help you much when your packing 5 fore weapons and 5 tac consoles and the plasma burn unless its a full plasma build is negligible on total dps
----=====This is my opinion you don't have to listen and no one else has to read them these "OPINIONS" are based on my exploits and my learning other people will have their opinions and that's fine just don't knock my way of doing things thanks=====----

I was also wondering is it worth getting a point defense system? I mean, because I don't have a 3rd rear facing weapon slot anymore, it'll make life just a little bit easier for me?

Will do with the field generator, and can I ask why the engine batteries?
And I have the subspace field modulator thing, so I'll equip that now :)

Neutronium Alloy instead of the zero-point conduit maybe? Or is it not worth it for the plasma damage on the field generator?

    Thanks guys :)

If he's planning on doing anything PvE related in a group, a threat down console is practically mandatory in the Tac-Kumari.

Here's the Kumari I'm currently running:

    ***Andorian Charal Escort***

    -Weapons-
Space Gear: Your Choice (MACO or Borg preferred)
Fore = Kumar Wing Cannons + 3 Elite Fleet Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons[Acc] + 1 Omega Torpedo Launcher
Aft = 2 Elite Fleet Phaser Turrets [Acc]
Devices = Red Matter Capacitor, Subspace Field Modulator
Consoles: Phaser Dispersal Relay, Tachyon Induction Relay, 2 Neutronium Armor, Borg Assimilated Universal Module, Field Generator, 4 Phaser Relays. Resist-Spec -- Replace all engineering consoles with Neutronium Armor x4

    BOFFS:
    CommanderTac: TT1, CSV1, HYT3, AP-Beta3 or AP-Omega3
    Lt.CmdrTac: TT1, CSV1, TS3,
    Lt.Eng: EPtS1, Aux2SIF
    EnsignEng: EPtS1
    Lt.Univ: HE1, ST1

DOFFS: 3 Attack Pattern Conn-doffs, 2 Projectile Weapon Officers

I went with elite fleet weapons and the borg set to maximize passive heal procs, and so far this set-up seems to be working.

Well I'm not sure what advice to give you so I'll just post what I am using. Keep in mind I have done 4 elite STFs so far and made it through them with little trouble. I blew up once during cure space via a point blank "I blinked and died" encounter with an assimilated kdf ship presumably with the aid of it's nearby gang banging cube friend, survived a donatra torp assault but then died to a second round while abilities were down. Besides that everything went smooth and fast in the kumari:

    Kumari class - PvE

4x DHC romulan plasma, romulan torp

    1)Omega deflector
    Omega engines
    Adapted MACO shield

    or

    2)Omega deflector
    Adapted engine
    Adapted shield

    or

    3)Adapted deflector
    Adapted Engine
    JH shields MKXII

    x2 romulan turret

    Space Mod/Weapon battery

    Borg console/tach console/romulan console
ferengi console/embassy sci console - maybe x2 MKXII embassy sci consoles soon
    x5 plasma consoles

extra tac BO slot for spread and volley convenience, HY2 for more DPS with two spreads or wasted ensign slot, whichever. I currently use x2 HY1s, x2 TT2, x2 CRF2, x1 APB3 for max cannon DPS with torp damage to compliment it. Best sustained single target DPS possible, best vs hull, second best to shields. CRF3 + TT3 + TT doffs + x2 beta1s = best vs shields

2x EPtS 1x RSP, forgo on any sci abilities, rely on leadership for healing which won't really work without crew resist build due to crew behavior during borg encounters. Also Jem deflector is probably better to use for shield drain or MACO deflector in setup 2 but I usually justify omega for acc to shoot down plasma torps.

    3x AP15 doffs
    1x tholian borg space
1x exocomp for ship device use

Everything went very smoothly for me but I'm me, and I say that sincerely, I'm at a point where I can make it work without much problem. Bottom line, I decided to go with the kumari because I realized that due to being a JHAS owner, the only point in buying any of the ships was to out DPS the JHAS. And when deciding, it was either going to be max DPS or don't even bother. If I want survival I'll use the JHAS. So I went with the kumari. I despise wasted BO slots but whatev. Maybe someday they'll rework things to help cannon users make ensign slots useful, like target subsystem abilities that's silly to be beam onry...

Resists are overrated unless it's PvP, and as far as the borg go sure, more plasma/kin resist would be great, but I rarely miss not having them. I miss kin resists when donatra gets a lucky torp spread on me with abilities on cooldown or when a cure space cube is in spam ability mode and gets me in just the right position to be ****ed, but that's about it. Mostly nothing that warrants full timing resists over DPS consoles. But I am considering full timing resists for cure space because the cubes there have stopped playing nice and giving me free reign. In that case resists outweigh respawn factor, but I'm mostly relying on others having cube aggro to get by.

Overall it boiled down to khyzon vs kumari. With the Khyzon you could use plasma and make up for the 5th console with 3x embassy MKXII sci consoles, and have great BO setup that matches the JHAS. However by the end of my calculations I decided that the kumari offered around 20% more DPS via consoles. It's not alot because we know how % calculates in STO, but it's still a clear leader for DPS when it doesn't have to use console slots to make up for no 5th tac console.

    So imo:

    Kumari = DPS
    Khyzon = renta JHAS
    Charal = PvP

BTW I'm now using no torp doffs for romulan torp because I'm getting myself used to them not working. I do believe that torp spam was not intended, not sure why it's still in effect, be great if it's a'ok by crptic, but in any case the launcher has performed much better than I expected without aid of doffs so I would feel not ripped off via another post purchase item adjustment. The launcher still performs admirably.

Lastly the phaser quads would be perfectly fine for PvE. I would use them over buying another DHC. Wing cannons more or less are the same DPS as a quad/DHC as far as pve is concerned so might as well use them too in all cannon phaser build, but for PvE I strongly suggest romulan torp launcher. It is more DPS than another cannon, period, and any arguments against that fact are people who don't own a romulan torpedo launcher. With or without doffs it's more DPS. So in this case it's going to be wing vs quad so you'll just have to choose one or use both and switching them back and forth or using both full time and losing a DHC. Whatever. Doesn't matter much in PvE. I'd use neither for PvP, though. Same for any plasma torp.

Engine batteries will mean your evasive manoeuvres will be twice as effective for speed

    There turret items are useless

I like the Charal the best too for pve. I have all 3 but that one is the best for me. I don't use fleet weapons since I don't play in a fleet or want to, but similar build. It's alot of fun, better than the kumari for me.

The only thing, I don't use the attack pattern conn duty officers, I have a vs borg, 2 tactical team, 2 projectile. Do I really need the vs borg, since I don't use fleet weapons it might be helping me. I'm not really sure.
