shared cd pounce/lunge

(warning: common cry post)

I don't see why you remove a shared cd of a weapon and a kit (HG grenade launcher) but introduce one for a kit and a passive trait...

For playing a tac cat with pounce and lunge i payed you MONEY to create a Caitian/Ferasan, and i used two passive traits to get me pounce.

Now pounce is close to being worthless (don't tell me different, play the game and see in which situations you wanna use those abilities. the situations will never be 6sec apart).
Pounce has always been significantly weaker than lunge, and pounce most always has some hangups when activating it.
So either fix the pounce-hangups and increase the damage to make it somewhat equal with lunge
OR just remove the shared cooldown - please.


(Dear forum trolls, before you wonder why I start whining before the patch is done: because I know my chars and how I use my abilities. Don't you?)

    I could not agree more. We paid to play Caitians, and we paid to play Ferasans.
    The combo lunge+pounce was available when Caitians were released, in early 2011 (if I remember correctly). So why nerf it now, 2 years later?
    I expect at least a free retrait token now. (I know, won't happen. :mad: )

    Because the PVPers claimed it was OP.
    Guess knocking someone down is more OP than a one-hit KO lunge or pulsewave hit..

    Balancing is a reason I could understand...
    still, if I complained about a sci ship holding no candle against an escort in PvP, all I'd get for an answer would be "It's working as intended", but when a ZEN-shopped player race is slightly more powerful than other races, it gets nerfed? That's not what I payed for...

    I just hope Brandon or someone else from cryptic deigns us with an explanation.
    If they take something away from players, at least an explanation should be given. Right from the start, without players requesting it.
    (Look at Blizzard patch notes for comparison, whatever you think about the company or their games, their customer policy is far less...... cryptic.)

    You do realize that what this change does is make it impossible to endlessly chain the things you're complaining about right?

    The net frequency isn't reduced - the shared cooldown is half of the internal cooldown. Just the ability to chain them back to back.

    Which was something that they were being cautious with on, say, the consoles for the new Andorian ships. You still get to use that type of ability twice as often as other players, you just don't get to use it back to back to create too much burst damage/control/positioning at once.

    Instead of nerfing the pounce/lunge they should have balanced the game by introducing a new species if they complaint about cats: Anticans....that would be so cool to see with a new power antagonistic to the cat's pounce/lunge...new power for Anticans: dog byte/tear off cat's limbs :D

    Don't sweat it, with that free +10% dodge, you're still the most vastly overpowered ground race. Anyone who does ground PvP would gladly give up their three trait choices (and maybe even fourth if they choose alien) to have that.

    It just needed an explanation as not all players are doing PvP or even ground PvP^^

    "Lunge and Pounce now share a 6.0sec Category Cooldown. (PvP balancing)" would have been sufficient information in the patchnotes... but hey, one can dream.

    It's has been explained on the Tribble forum, where patchs notes are always posted first.

    I win-button: I dont think so.
    Anyhow, I think a new selection of traits would be fair now. But I dont keep my hopes up, this task is way too big for cryptic and obviously they dont even care since our money for the caitians/ferasans is already in their pockets.
